Audi has also worked on the Audi A1- e-tron.  The A1 e-tron is a concept car with is an electric variant of the A1.  The A1 e-tron is a series plug-in hybrid (PHEV) that was first displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2010.  The electric motor has a continuous output of 45 kW (60 bhp) and a peak of 75 kW (101 bhp).  The A1 e-tron uses a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery with an allowable distance of 31 miles (50 km).  Once the battery is depleted, a 254 cc Wankel engine is used to generate 15 kW (20 bhp) with a 3.2 US gallon gas tank (12 L).  This adds 124 miles to the range, allowing the car to run for up to155 miles before recharging and refueling.  155 miles is okay for the first version of the car, but Audi should be expected to double if not triple the current mileage created by the current electric motor.

BMW M5 – Ride Racing Burnout Drift FlyBy and More

The BMW E60 M5 was produced between the years 2005-2010. The E60 M5 was first introduced in 2005 with a 5.0L V10 (305.1 cu. in.) that produced 500bhp and 380 lb.ft. of torque. The M5 was the world’s first sedan to feature a petrol V10 engine. It was assembled in Dingolfing, Germany in a 4-door saloon or 5-door Touring wagon. The transmission was offered in a 6-speed manual or 7-speed SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox).

The E60 M5 competed with the Audi RS6 (C5) & Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG. All 3 of these models are quoted to do 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. When released, the BMW E60 M5 took the title of the most powerful mid-size sport sedan. After rival companies began releasing their next models, the BMW E60 M5 was overtaken by the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG which produced 507 bhp, the Audi RS6 (C6) which produced 571 bhp, and the second generation Cadillac CTS-V which produced 556 bhp. The Cadillac CTS-V beat the BMW M5′s Nurburgring lap time. This defeat will lead BMW engineers to focus on the aerodynamics, handling, and performance of future BMW M-models to re-take the crown of best mid-size sedan.
