At the New York International Auto Show in 2019, VW debuted its second SUV at the show in history. This time, the Volkswagen Tarok Concept was on display. The purpose of this showcasing is to tease buyers in the U.S. From there, VW can decide if to bring the Tarok to the United States… or not. Currently, the Tarok is going to hit production for sales in South America. So, will the Tarok make it to the U.S.? Well, only time will tell. Is there demand for a German pickup truck? Probably… but is it enough?

The Volkswagen Tarok Concept sports a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that offers 147 horsepower. Backing this up is a 6-speed transmission and 4Motion AWD system. This is the same engine as seen in the VW Golf Hatchback. These specs may be a major mistake if joining the U.S. market is a goal. Many pickup trucks sold in the U.S. sport at minimum a V6, but preferably a V8. So, would U.S. buyers consider a 1.4-liter engine? Possibly. With the EV pickup truck battle taking place, smaller engine pickups may catch on… or not. Honestly, this is why the car was put on display as a concept, as nobody knows. Surely, VW will decide in the near future on this car’s production.

How are the Tarok’s Towing Capabilities?

As with any pickup truck, it needs to be able to haul quite a bit of weight. So, VW was sure to reach for high expectations. The Tarok can handle 2,271 pounds with 73.2” in freight space. This is due to the foldable panel behind the rear seat. By adjusting the seat, the area in the truck bed can expand quite a bit. So, will the engine deter buyers, or will they embrace this vehicle? Truthfully, only time will tell.

At Auto Shanghai 2019, Daimler’s Mercedes-Benz made a concept debut to the public. The Mercedes-Benz Concept GLB is being marketed as a “spacious and robust” compact SUV. So… this may make some people wonder, why so many Benz SUVs? Well, the GLB is part of a long chain of high-quality German engineering by Benz to capture the SUV market. Prior to the GLB, Mercedes has sold 6 million SUVs to customers worldwide.

In 2018 alone, SUVs were the strongest segment of the manufacturer with 820,000 units sold. So, Mercedes is simply following a trend of popularity with their SUVs.

Turbo Four-Cylinder Engine with 221 Horsepower

Under the hood, the Concept GLB sports a 4-cylinder turbo engine. This motor boasts 221 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. For the size of this car, this is a reasonable amount of power. Especially, since there will most likely be an AMG version. But that is likely a year or 2 down the road. The amount of torque backs up the vehicle’s off-road style and vision.

Just as the GLA, this car will most likely have a speed and price aimed at the entry SUV market. But, it’ll probably be a bit more pricey than the GLA, and include enough seating space for 7 occupants. Furthermore, it should be cheaper than the GLC. Lastly, don’t forget about the larger GLE or GLS. Phew! Thinking about it, that’s a lot of dang SUVs!

Quality Tech with Hints of Off-Roading Capabilities

Mercedes-Benz Concept GLB: World Premiere | Trailer – Mercedes-Benz – YouTube

The Mercedes Concept GLB is a pretty awesome vehicle. To top off its SUV body styling, this vehicle also contains high quality Benz technology. Firstly, there are the MULTIBEAM LED headlamps on the frontend, giving it a very modern fascia. Next, there is the MBUX entertainment system, which is also called Mercedes-Benz User Experience. There’s also hints of off-road styling inside to complement the vehicle itself. Overall, the GLB seems like it will sell well on the worldwide market… it’s compact but serves a multi-purpose.

Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition: Farewell to S-Class V12

Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition: Farewell to S-Class V12

An Official Goodbye to the S-Class V12

After many, many years of the S-Class sporting a V12 option, it is time to say farewell. To close out the S-Class V12 era, Daimler is introducing the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition. This vehicle has a limit of 130 units that include a number badge. Furthermore, the car arrives with a styling Obsidian Black Metallic paintjob and a mix of carbon fiber and copper accents. The Final Edition made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in 2019. Although this car is a tribute to the era of V12 S-Class vehicles, it signals the next design that is coming soon. The next-gen S-Class will probably boast similar power with a smaller, more efficient engine. Honestly, don’t be surprised to see a fully electric or hybrid version… but who knows?

The Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition sports a 6.5-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. This motor boasts 612 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. From 0 to 60 mph, this large luxury vehicle takes only 3.9 seconds. While this much power and speed sounds great, the 6.3-Liter V8 in the S63 sedan is actually faster. While the wild roar of the V12 will be missed by many, the power will not be gone. Actually, there will probably be more power, and more efficiency. So, that means the power will be more responsive and capable of performing with the crème of the crop.

Who Knew the Day of No V12 S-Class Would Come to Exist!?

2019 Mercedes S65 AMG – FINAL V12 S Class NEW Review Sound Exhaust Interior Exterior Infotainment – MercBenzKing – YouTube

Sadly, it is time for the 6.5-liter twin-turbo V12 to part ways from the S-Class. After so many years of such a beastly engine, it may take a moment for this to stick to the AMG V12 fans. But, don’t be afraid of the future! The future may not have gas guzzling V12s, but it has more speed, efficiency, and technology. So, while the roar may be gone, the car will be better… and faster! Between the special paint, the matte bronze accents, the 20” bronze wheels, and the AMG crest on the rear roof pillar, this car is stunning. Owning one of these cars would be amazing as it is truly a collectible masterpiece. Let’s finish this article off with a final statement. Thank you Mercedes-AMG for the V12 era and the hype surrounding this monster of engineering defeat.

White BMW Wagon Illegally Drives thru Washington State Mall

White BMW Wagon Illegally Drives thru Washington State Mall

Believe It or Not… It’s True!

Whether any reader believes this or not… it’s a true story! In Washington state, a white BMW wagon drove thru the Wenatchee Valley Mall around 6 PM on Thursday, May 8th. The driver, Francisco Samuel “Sam” Kehoe (age 31), initially parked outside of the mall. Then, sporadically, the driver enters the mall with the white BMW wagon and drives illegally through it. The car smashes through the mall doors, then maneuver its way around the employees, objects, and shoppers. After the ordeal, police arrest “Sam” and find a pair of empty syringes and a pack of meth in the vehicle. Obviously, this driver’s arrest is due to DUI, hit and run, and reckless endangerment charges. Don’t expect to see him back on the road anytime soon…

Insane Idea Inspired by Heroin and Meth

”I’ve been almost three decades of policing and I’ve lived here my whole life, but I’ve never known of someone crashing through the doors of a mall and going for a joyride.” – Officer Joe Hinkle of East Wenatchee, Washington Police (Interview with iFiberone News)

The entire idea of driving a white BMW wagon illegally into the Wenatchee Valley Mall was due to the use of heroin and meth. “Sam” admitted to using both heroin and meth prior to driving into the mall. So, that may be the reason he was seen outside in the first place. There is no fact at this moment, but the driver was probably using the drugs while sitting in the mall parking lot. But, either way, driving through a mall without permission is crazy. This isn’t like the guy in Saudi Arabia that paid to rent an entire mall to drive his Aston Martin around inside while shopping. That’s a whole different story… check it out here!

Yes, There’s Footage of This Crazy Story on YouTube!

Man Drives Through Wenatchee Valley all 2019-05-08

Overall, this entire scenario is something that most people don’t hear about in a lifetime. How often does a vehicle smash into the mall and go for a joyride? Not often. But, that is exactly what happened at the Wenatchee Valley Mall in Washington state. That white BMW (Pronounced “BMV“) wagon had no trouble plowing through glass doors and taking a journey through crowds of bewildered spectators. At least, as it seems, nobody was hurt during this crazy drug fueled decision-making process. On the other hand, damage to the mall will cost thousands and include replacing the door that was impacted during the cruise. The driver initially entered through a door by ROSS, as seen in the video, then also drove out the same way. Wow, this is one heck of story… right?
