Reveal at 2019 Chicago Auto Show
At the 2019 Chicago Auto Show, Alfa Romeo revealed a limited edition 4C. The 2020 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Italia Limited Edition is basically a 4C, but better. Although it is the same mid-engine 2-seater vehicle with the same power, it has many enhancements. The production will take place in Modena, Italy with a limit of 15 models. Yes, only 15 models will be made by Alfa Romeo. At a starting price of $73,495, this car is equivalent of a maxed-out coupe or base spider. Unfortunately, the coupe will no longer hit production after the 2018 model year. But there are plenty on the used car market at a reasonable price.
Engine & Modification Specs
In the rear hood, the 2010 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Italia Limited Edition sports the typical 1.7-liter inline 4-cylinder engine. This motor boasts 237 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Since the car is so light, it reaches 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds. If worrying about top speed, the 4C can reach 160 mph. This also requires a thanks to the 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. Although a bit rigid on shifts, it is quite a fun car to drive. Lastly, don’t forget about the manual steering!
Being an exclusive 4C, this car has quite a list of differences from the base versions. Firstly, there is a Misano Blue Metallic paint job. Secondly, the intake and rear diffuser are in piano black. Thirdly, there are Italia stickers on the flanks. Fourthly, there is an aluminum trim dashboard with a “4C Spider Italia” logo. Fifthly, lets jump into the standard tech. On top of the cruise control and rear park sensors, this car has a backup camera. From experience, driving a 4C in reverse definitely needs a backup camera. Views from the car in the rear are a bit poor, especially with the low reach of the diffuser.
The Finale of the 4C
Basically, the 2020 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Italia Limited Edition is a finale of the 4C. With the 4C subbing out over the next few years, a new model will hit the streets. Many look forward to the change, while others will stick with a 4C. At this point, the 4C is basically becoming a collector’s car. Although it hasn’t held value too well, it is still an awesome car. The Italia LE will most likely be more valuable, especially down the road. If not already sold out, now is the time to ask a dealer. In conclusion, the 4C Spider Italia LE is a pretty sweet car.
