Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans: Special Anniversary Edition

Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans: Special Anniversary Edition

The 1st Chiron Special Edition

At first, it didn’t seem that Bugatti would make a special edition of the Chiron. But, that dream has officially come true! The Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans is a special anniversary edition to celebrate 110 years of Bugatti. With a large emphasis on French heritage, this hypercar breathes blue. For those who don’t know, Bugatti is now under the German Volkswagen Group. With the base Chiron starting at $3.3 million USD, the special edition will probably be $4+ million. Some sites are suggesting a price around $18 million, but there is no true answer at this point. But, with such a limitation on production, this car is most likely sold out and will be worth a ton. Additionally, the limit is to be around 20 units, similar to the 4C’s 15 Spider Italia variants.

On the exterior, the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans sport a two-tone blue design. Firstly, on the front end, there is a matte steel blue carbon fiber finish. Secondly, on the rear end, there is a matte steel blue, not including the carbon fiber emphasis. The front end is said to be reminiscent of the 1920s. On top of this, there are tricolor flags on the mirrors and underside of the active wing. Furthermore, the brake calipers and wheel centers are painted in French racing blue. Lastly, on the exterior, there are unique silver badges with the French flag and model name. This is quite an upgrade of the base Chiron layout, but depends on taste as well.

On the interior, most displays a stunning deep blue leather. There are French racing blue accents on the dashboard and seats as well as Alcantara. Bot headrests have “110 Ans Bugatti” badge on the headrests. The steering wheel has an embroidering of the French flag and center of seats. Furthermore, the key is a mix of red, white, and blue leather. Lastly, the biggest detail is the special carbon fiber medallion on the center console. It has a “110 Ans” badge made from solid silver with enamel inserts. And, if interested, the Sky View option is available, with two glass panels in roof bisected by central spine of vehicle. To note, this is the second car to sport the “110” namesake as there was previously the EB 110.

The First, Maybe the Last?

With the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans revealed, the question arises – is it the last? Well, nobody outside of Bugatti truly knows. Maybe there will be another special edition, and maybe not. Bugatti is known for making amazing hypercars, so it is not out of question. McLaren tends to do this with their vehicles on a regular basis, but Bugatti much less often. The 110 Ans is an awesome car and will be quite collectible. In conclusion, Bugatti does it again with another superb design.

In honor of McLaren’s 1st F1 victory, the 720S Spa 68 Collection was born. McLaren Special Operations (MSO) was commissioned by a Brussels dealership to build 3 models for sale. The McLaren 720S Spa 68 is a stunning car in MSO Bespoke Anniversary Orange paint. The rear wheel arch has a silver tracing of Spa-Francorchamps, where the victory took place. Bruce McLaren, the founder, won his fourth F1 victory at this event. But, it was the first ever victory under the McLaren manufacturer name. Furthermore, the car has text written on it stating “1st McLaren F1 Victory Belgium Grand Prix 9th June 1968 – Bruce McLaren”. Obviously, this is a straightforward statement of the reason for the model.

The McLaren 720S Spa 68 Collection commemorates one of McLaren’s largest milestones in it’s racing career. But, Bruce McLaren was obviously not driving a 720S in 1968. He was behind the wheel of a McLaren M7A, a historic vehicle for the company. This car had the signature papaya orange livery, that MSO mimics today. On the current Spa 68 model, there are satin black split five-spoke wheels. Obviously, high-quality tires meant for track fit these wheels. Finally, the interior is a mix of black Alcantara with orange stitching. McLaren sure does know how to make cars unique!

MSO has another hit with the McLaren 720S Spa 68 Collection. This vehicle pays tribute to Bruce McLaren’s tremendous M7A victory at F1 Spa-Francorchamps. With only 3 models for sale, 2 have already been sold by the dealership. So, if there is enough cash in the bank, now may be the time to contact them for a settlement. Unless, it is already too late – which it may be. Overall, the Spa 68 is an awesome vehicle that’ll be another collectible piece for any McLaren fan.

To upgrade? Or, not to upgrade? With the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS, that is the question. Many enthusiasts are left wondering, is the GTS worth the price in comparison to the S model? The real answer lies ahead with a short analysis of the Cayman GTS model. First off, the 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman S is already an amazing sports car. But, for a bit more buck, do you get the bang? Well, that answer is truthfully up to you… but we say yes!

Performance Enhancements

2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS – Side View of Interior – Porsche – EuroDrift

The 2018 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS sports a turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-four motor. This engine produces 365 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. In comparison to the S, this is 15 more horsepower and 8 more lb.-ft. of torque. Furthermore, this engine works in combo with a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch auto transmission. Expectedly, this car should hit 60 mph roughly 0.1 seconds faster than the S model. Porsche claims a 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. But, Car & Driver was able to reach 60 mph in only 3.6 seconds in the S. This means, the GTS should be in the range of 3.5 seconds.

McLaren 720S: MSO Pacific & Track Themes

McLaren 720S: MSO Pacific & Track Themes

Themes by McLaren Special Operations

Recently, McLaren Special Operations released two themes: Pacific & Track. Previously this year, the Atlantic theme had its debut. There is also the Velocity Theme as seen at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, being the 1st MSO theme for the 720S. The color schemes by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) cater to enthusiasts with a bit more interest in style. The Pacific theme is a mix of blue hues representing an ocean whereas the Track theme is a mix of white and orange. Each of these color sets are special editions which will most likely have a production limit. Either way, both combos are stunning on the awe-inspiring McLaren 720S.

This can be seen on the door intake region. Furthermore, all of the 720S carbon fiber is a Cobalt Blue tone. This includes carbon on the air intakes, front splitter, mirror casings, rear bumper, rear deck, rear diffuser, and roof. Lastly, blue reaches the interior by displaying on the seats and steering wheel. If the tones of the Pacific ocean are of interest, then this car is perfect.

For the wheels, there are black rims with an orange outer lip. Furthermore, the mirror caps are in a “speedy kiwi” design. Lastly on the exterior, the carbon fiber has a satin finish to save weight. On the interior, black Alcantara upholstery withholds orange contrast stitching. Finally, the lightweight titanium harness bar allows a 6-point harness.

In May 2018, BMW will offer the M3 CS on the U.S. market. The new 2018 BMW M3 CS displays carbon fiber prominently and has a slightly stripped interior. Basically, the M3 CS will be a lighter, track-focused version of the M3 coupe. Not surprisingly, the M3 CS will be the fastest and lightest M3 in the current generation. The carbon fiber combines with other elements to take this car to the track level.

The 2018 BMW M3 CS sports a 3.0-liter twin-turbo I6 engine. This motor produces a whopping 453 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. The engine works with a 7-speed dual-clutch “DCT” gearbox which is lighter than a typical manual transmission. This combination allows the M3 CS to hit 60 mph in only 3.8 seconds. Additionally, the M3 CS can hit a top speed of 174 mph.

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) Roof

Furthermore, the 2018 BMW M3 CS weighs only 3520 lbs, 40 lbs lighter than the M3. This is due to a combination of components. These include a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof, front splitter, gurney flap, and rear diffuser. The M3 CS’s chassis is stiffer than the stock version for track purposes. This chassis is staggered on 19” wheels on the front and 20” wheels on the rear. Optionally, customers can order Michelin Super Sport tires.

On the interior, the 2018 BMW M3 CS has a ton of Alcantara trim with “CS” logos. This is complemented by a Harmon-Kardon sound system and navigation. So technically, this BMW M3 CS isn’t as stripped down as the M4 CS. Not surprisingly, it is still a beast of a machine. This technology is just an additional perk in a track-level sports car.

Lastly, the 2017 AD Tramontana includes the help of Vilner, a Bulgarian customization company.

All of the cars that Tramontana manufacturers are on commission per individual client requests. This means that the clients have a large say in how the car should turn out. No surprise, the perfect place to showcase such a flashy car was at SEMA 2017. Las Vegas and flashiness go together, making this the perfect car to hit the casinos with. While pulling up to the Bellagio in a typical sports car may not attain enough attention for some people – the 2017 AD Tramontana will.

The 2017 AD Tramontana sports a Mercedes-Benz 5.5-liter twin-turbo mid-engine V12. As a result,  this motor produces a whopping 888 horsepower and 678 lb.-ft. of torque. Consequently, to handle this power, the Tramontana has a seven-speed sequential gearbox. In addition, the Tramontana only weights 2,795 pounds. With that power and weight combination, this car should be a scary, thrilling joyrider.

“You are nobody in the automotive custom scene if you’re not as SEMA,” stated Ayana’s Vilner, the Vilner studio’s founder. “We were there as an exclusive partner to the Spanish Super Car brand AD Tramontana.” SEMA is known for its custom, flashy vehicles that are on display each year. With that in mind, this is the place to be to showcase a truly custom supercar. The 2017 AD Tramontana fits the bill perfectly.

On the interior, there are two seats that are in a row, one behind the other. The driver takes the first seat while a passenger can fit behind them. It doesn’t seem there is much legroom or room for obesity in this vehicle. Imagine the tiny size of the Alfa Romeo 4C and think “even smaller”.

Each interior is individually crafted by Atelier. The combination of black alcantara, black leather, and lizard-texture goldfish leather combine to create a cozy, sporty feeling. The horn buttons are hidden underneath the leather, not surprisingly. At the top of the wheel, there is a gold central marker that keeps the car pointed in the correct direction.

“That engine can generate a genuine sense of superiority for the driver,” Vilner stated. “And that kind of self-esteem should be defined by the design inside as well.” The 5.5-liter Mercedes V12 definitely doesn’t disappoint. With placement in such as light vehicle, this car will be roaring down the track. Or, maybe roaring up the driveway to one of Las Vegas’ finest casinos.

Overall, the 2017 AD Tramontana is a true race car. Built with a sporty, stylish design, this car will be the showcase special at most events. These cars are highly customizable, leading to more satisfaction for individual consumers. Not to mention, the car opens up like a fighter jet with a top hatch rather than doors. All in all, this car is a special vehicle that made the right decision by showcasing at SEMA.
