An Official Goodbye to the S-Class V12
After many, many years of the S-Class sporting a V12 option, it is time to say farewell. To close out the S-Class V12 era, Daimler is introducing the Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition. This vehicle has a limit of 130 units that include a number badge. Furthermore, the car arrives with a styling Obsidian Black Metallic paintjob and a mix of carbon fiber and copper accents. The Final Edition made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show in 2019. Although this car is a tribute to the era of V12 S-Class vehicles, it signals the next design that is coming soon. The next-gen S-Class will probably boast similar power with a smaller, more efficient engine. Honestly, don’t be surprised to see a fully electric or hybrid version… but who knows?
6.5-Liter Twin-Turbo V12 with 621 Horsepower
The Mercedes-AMG S 65 Final Edition sports a 6.5-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. This motor boasts 612 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. From 0 to 60 mph, this large luxury vehicle takes only 3.9 seconds. While this much power and speed sounds great, the 6.3-Liter V8 in the S63 sedan is actually faster. While the wild roar of the V12 will be missed by many, the power will not be gone. Actually, there will probably be more power, and more efficiency. So, that means the power will be more responsive and capable of performing with the crème of the crop.
Who Knew the Day of No V12 S-Class Would Come to Exist!?
Sadly, it is time for the 6.5-liter twin-turbo V12 to part ways from the S-Class. After so many years of such a beastly engine, it may take a moment for this to stick to the AMG V12 fans. But, don’t be afraid of the future! The future may not have gas guzzling V12s, but it has more speed, efficiency, and technology. So, while the roar may be gone, the car will be better… and faster! Between the special paint, the matte bronze accents, the 20” bronze wheels, and the AMG crest on the rear roof pillar, this car is stunning. Owning one of these cars would be amazing as it is truly a collectible masterpiece. Let’s finish this article off with a final statement. Thank you Mercedes-AMG for the V12 era and the hype surrounding this monster of engineering defeat.
AMG GT R Roadster is the “Top Model”
For the 2020 model year, Mercedes-AMG is bringing the GT R Roadster to the market. With a limit of only 750 units, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster will be quite rare. This version of the AMG GT has a soft-top convertible with the Mercedes-Benz Airscarf. At the peak of the AMG models, Mercedes calls this car the “top model”. This vehicle boasts the most power of the AMG GT line-up. Furthermore, simply letting the top down will allow the driver to listen to the mean roar of the V8. This car is basically the crème of the crop of the AMG GTs.
4.0-Liter Twin-Turbo V8 Engine
The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster sports a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This motor boasts 577 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Furthermore, the engine works in combo with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. As per performance, this car has 27 more horsepower than the GT C and GT C Roadster. Moreover, there is a gain of 62 horsepower over the GT S and GT S Roadster. Finally, there is a 108 horsepower gain over the base GT and GT Roadster. That is quite a lead of power in the lineup. To top it off, this car has active aerodynamics, active rear steering, adjustable dampers, and a coilover suspension. Phew!
The Crème of the Crop AMG
Overall, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is truly the crème of the crop as per AMG models. Even Mercedes thinks so. And, on top of the amazing engine and performance features, there’s more! As per aesthetics, this car starts with an AMG Night Cosmetic Package. Secondly, it includes an AMG Performance Flat-Bottom Steering Wheel. Furthermore, the top layer of the frame includes a triple layer of aluminum, magnesium, and steel. These features on this car make it stand out among its siblings. In conclusion, the AMG GT R Roadster is one of the company’s peak vehicles.
A Beastly 4MATIC AMG
For the 2019 model year, AMG is offering a GLE 63 S Coupe with 4MATIC AWD. The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe is quite a beastly machine. Starting at a MSRP of $113,000 in the U.S., this car arrives with a ton of tech. The technology on the GLE 63 S Coupe include:
- Active Curve System
- Adaptive Dampening System
- AIRMATIC Sport Suspension
- Dynamic SELECT
- ECO Start/Stop System
- Exhaust System
- High-Performance Braking System
- Performance 4MATIC AWD
- Sport-Tuned Direct Steer
- OPTIONAL: Sport Exhaust System
All of these features are beneficial to the car, making it a track-friendly SUV coupe. With so many advanced options, this car handles quite well and is capable of towing 7,200 pounds via rear trailer hitch. So, if the goal is performance and towing capabilities, this car meets both.
An Engine Built by Hand!
The 2019 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe sports a handcrafted AMG 5.5-liter V8 BiTurbo engine. At peak, the AMG V8 produces 577 horsepower and 561 lb.-ft. of torque. Towing with this much power should be cake! The engine works in combo with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-Transmission. This allows the AMG GLE to reach 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds. Lastly, to get the power to the ground, this car rocks 22” wheels.
AMG Doesn’t Disappoint!
With the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S Coupe, AMG shows the world it is ready to battle for the years to come. With so much power, this car can compete with the crème of the crop. Furthermore, with its closest competition being Audi and BMW, these companies will have to hustle to keep the arena in fair play. Obviously, this car has quite a beautiful interior with the newest Mercedes technology. So, fortunately, this car won’t end up behind in times like the Ghibli or Levante. Overall, the AMG GLE is an amazing SUV that performs like a sedan.
The Original SLS AMG 2-Door Coupe
From January 2010 to January 2014, Daimler AG produced the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 2-door coupe. The base version of this car ranges in model year from 2011 to 2015. The original assembly was at a location in Sindelfingen, Germany. The 2-door SLS AMG coupe is an FMR layout with a transaxle. The biggest designation of the SLS is the gull-wing doors. But, there is a lot more to this car than it’s aesthetically pleasing exterior.
6.2-Liter M159 DOHC V8 Engine
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a gullwing that performs on the road and track. With a 6.2-liter M159 DOHC V8 engine, this car cranks out 563 horsepower. Supporting the horsepower is 479 lb.-ft. of torque. This motor works in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. From 0 to 60 mph, the SLS AMG takes only 3.7 seconds. On the quarter mile, the SLS AMG reaches the end in only 11.7 seconds at 125 mph. Lastly, the top speed is a staggering 197 mph, almost 200… almost.
But, at these speeds, the car can still terrify those afraid of quick accelerations. In the event of a rollover, the SLS AMG doors contain explosive bolts that sense a rollover to separate for ease of exiting. This is an important aspect of racing in this car, as being stuck inside could be deadly. Fortunately, Mercedes is usually ahead of the game when it comes to safety. This may help those with worries about this car on the road.
A Beautiful Automotive Masterpiece
Here’s Why the Mercedes SLS AMG Is Worth $185,000 – Doug DeMuro – YouTube
The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is simply put, a beautiful automotive masterpiece. Even though this car is not produced anymore, it still can sell for over $200,000 in great condition. With a roaring V8 and gull-wing doors, who wouldn’t want to drive this car? Vrooming around town in this car is sure to attract a lot of attention. In conclusion, the SLS AMG is a beastly automobile meant for car collectors worldwide.

A Car Collection for the Dreamers
Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the Mexican drug lord behind the Sinaloa Cartel, has quite a car collection. Looking beyond the current criminal investigation, El Chapo has great taste in European cars. But, truth be told, he has been a top drug kingpin since 2003. According to the US Department of Treasury, El Chapo is the “most powerful drug trafficker in the world.” With an estimated net worth of around $4 billion USD, any car could be his with a click of his fingers, kind of like Thanos… well maybe not exactly. Currently, El Chapo is imprisoned and awaiting trial in the US. Moving El Chapo to the US was important due to his history of escaping jail time. This happened in July of 2001 and July of 2015. So, obviously no chances were taken on this arrest.
Top-Notch Mercedes-Benz Collection
El Chapo’s collection of vehicles includes quite an array of amazing Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Starting off with the shining gems, El Chap0 has a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren as well as a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Phew! These two cars individually are enough to pull in dreamers, without the mention of the other. Furthermore, these cars sit alongside a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Driving just one of the vehicles listed above is a dream of many. With the cheapest car being a CLA45 AMG at a MSRP of $51k, these vehicles aren’t cheap. At the top end, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ran around half a million USD. That’s more value than most homes in the US on average.
Two Ducati Motorcycles
Next, El Chapo had quite a nice mini collection of Ducati motorcycles. First, there is the Ducati Monster. Secondly, there is a Ducati Hypermotard 1100. Both bikes offer great escape options in the event of a run. Or, they are also perfect for a cruise around town. Regardless, no one can go wrong with a Ducati bike.
An Armored Volkswagen Jetta
Lastly, beyond the Corvette, GTR, and Viper, is an armored Volkswagen Jetta. Since this is a European website, the American cars will not be covered here. But, the armored VW Jetta will! So, why would El Chapo want an armored VW Jetta, a car that is already not that great? Well, it could be that it is inconspicuous. But, with that kind of net value, that Jetta may pack more under the hood than known. It would be no surprise if it wore a twin-turbo V8 with AWD, the perfect setup to escape. It may become a bit front heavy, but with some balancing and weight reductions, it could be an amazing getaway car.
The Verdict May Not Be Good… But the Cars Are!
Narcos | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix – YouTube
Overall, El Chapo is currently facing major jail time in the United States. This means there’s a very high chance that he will not escape again… but nobody truly knows. Although the verdict may not be good, the cars in his collection are amazing. Starting off with a collection of Benz vehicles, that alone is a non-standard set. Imagine waking up everyday to see those AMGs in the garage with two Ducatis and an armored VW Jetta. Furthermore, he had quite a collection of American cars as well including a few armored Jeeps. In the end, his car collection will arise the dreamers.

The 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One
The 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One boat is a Mercedes-AMG partnership venture. Mercedes-AMG is working on a hypercar project with the Project One title. The goal for the Project One hypercar is for it to be AMG’s fastest vehicle. Cigarette Racing, AMG’s boat partner since 2007, figures why not do the same for their business in the boat industry. Hence, the 515 Project One boat came to be into existence. Prior, the partnership was simply set for customer and marketing opportunities. Due to the abundant boating community and Cigarette Racing’s location in Miami-Dade, Florida, this boat made its appearance at the 2018 Miami International Boat Show.
Statement by Skip Braver, CEO of Cigarette Racing
“Mercedes-AMG and Cigarette Racing both have racing as part of their DNA, which makes us natural partners to work together to continue to push the limits of design and high performance,” – Skip Braver (CEO of Cigarette Racing)
Two Mercury Racing V8 Engines with 3,100 Horsepower
The 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One sports two Mercury Racing V8 engines. These motors produce a whopping 2,700 horsepower on pump fuel. Furthermore, the motors hit 3,100 horsepower on racing fuel. Although the Project One hypercar will hit 200+ mph, this boat can reach over 140 mph. This boat will provide one thrill of a ride for anyone willing to attempt to tame it. The 515 Project One is one heck of a boat to impress the ladies, or the men.
Name Based on Length of 51’5” & Project One Hypercar
The 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One obtains its name from two places. First, the 515 stands for the length of the boat which is 51 feet and 5 inches (51’5” Inches). Second, as mentioned above, the Project One portion is based on the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar. Beyond the name, the boat also features a few other perks on the comfort side. Furthermore, the boat has a widened beam of around 10 feet for increased luxury. Lastly, and surprisingly, this boat can seat six people comfortably on board.
Carbon Fiber, Carbon Fiber, & More Carbon Fiber
Expectedly, the 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One is a carbon fiber beast. Starting with the hull, the main materials are carbon fiber and Kevlar. This is due to the high strength and low weight. Next, the deck is also made of carbon fiber to reduce weight further as well as lower the center of gravity. This is a great decision as with a top speed of 140 mph, you’ll need the low center of gravity to prevent a disaster. Furthermore, the cabin liner, consoles, engine hatch, forward bulkheads, inner structural laminate, and storage hatches are also made of carbon fiber.
Half Dozen Units at $2,000,000 MSRP
In conclusion, the 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One boat is a beast of a machine. With 3,100 horsepower on racing fuel, this boat will be the ultimate thrill for those who can afford it. The MSRP of the boat will be around $2,000,000 with a limit of 6 models. Overall, this is a one-of-a-kind vessel for any boating enthusiast. In the end, the 2018 Cigarette Racing 515 Project One and the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar are meant to be together.
The All-New 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet
For the 2018 model year, Mercedes-AMG is offering the S63 and S65 models in cabriolets. As with all previous years, the S65 is the top-tier “prize” model. The new 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet includes body style alterations and the same prominent V12 engine. While the S63 seems to include more changes for 2018, the S65 is still a mean machine. From it’s howling V12 to its new body curves, this S65 will probably be the best to date.
6.0-Liter V12 with 620 Horsepower
The 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet sports a 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine. This motor produces a whopping 620 horsepower and 738 lb.-ft. of torque. These power figures combine with a 7-speed gearbox and rear-wheel drive to create a madhouse on wheels. The V12 allows the S65 to hit 60 mph in only 4.0 seconds with a top speed of 186 mph. Yes, the top speed is governed to this by Mercedes.
Comparison to the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet
On the other hand, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet contains a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo. This top notch engine by Mercedes allows the S63 to hit 60 mph 0.6 seconds faster than the S65. The top speed is the same, which again, is due to Mercedes top speed governor regulation. This doesn’t mean that the S65 loses its crown. It simply a question of giving the new V8 a chance or sticking to the Mercedes famed V12.
AMG Panamerica Grille
On the front of the new S65 Cabriolet, there is a revised grill titled the “AMG Panamerica Grille”. This grill shows similarities to the version on the Mercedes-AMG GT. The S65 Cabriolet also has larger front air ducts on the front. On top of that, the front and rear bumpers show some revision work. Lastly, the car has a slightly different chrome trim layout. The S63 Cabriolet has similar alterations to body styling as well.
COMAND System with Two High-Resolution 12.3” Screens
On the interior, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet has multiple new options. The first is the new leather upholstery color options. Second, is the technology in this beast. Starting with two 12.3” high-resolution displays, the S65 shows modernization. The infotainment system uses the COMAND system by Mercedes. Another new feature is the ability to use hand gesture controls on the steering wheel to control the COMAND system. Lastly, another major improvement is the compatibility of this system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Minor Autonomous Functionality
On a final note, one of the biggest new features is the addition of autonomous features. Unlike Tesla, this car will not offer a ton of autonomous features. But, it does contain two major components of it. First, the Active Distance Assist Distronic will allow the vehicle to slow down and speed up in accordance with the vehicle in front of it. Second, the Active Steering Assist will help the driver stay in the center of a lane. This is a step forward in Daimler’s attempt to add autonomous vehicles to its lineup in the upcoming years.
The New S65 Cabriolet is a Beast on Wheels
Overall, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG S65 Cabriolet is a beast of a convertible. With it’s V12 power-plant in combination with a beautiful exterior and interior, this car is a star on the road. The beautiful interior works with the new technology to take this car to the next stage. Autonomous features improve the quality of the vehicle and show Mercedes commitment to bring this concept to more vehicles. In the end, the S65 Cabriolet will provide the owner with prestige and style.
Audi vs. BMW vs. Mercedes-Benz
In 2018, competition between European automobile manufacturers is still the norm. From Audi to BMW to Mercedes-Benz, these competitors are always attempting to overwhelm their counterparts. In this article, we will compare the 2018 Audi RS5, BMW M4, and Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe. Each car, with its own unique design, has pros and cons. Below, the comparison will determine the true winner of this battle.
2018 Audi RS5
The 2018 Audi RS5 was released to market in June 2017 in Europe. At a MSRP equivalent of $85,495, the RS5 has aimed at a higher market target. The 2018 RS5 is powered by a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 compared to the previous 4.2-liter V8. This new motor produces 450 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. Audi estimates the RS5 can hit 60 mph in only 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph. With that number, the RS5 leaps forward into the realm of true sports car accelerations.
2018 BMW M4
Next, the 2018 BMW M4 is available in a coupe and convertible build with MSRPs of $67,195 and $75,695, respectively. For this analysis, the coupe will be considered the competitor. The M4’s 3.0-liter inline-six engine produces 425 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. With the Competition package, the M4 boasts 444 horsepower, slightly closer to the RS5. This power allows the M4 to hit 60 mph in only 3.9 seconds, 0.1 seconds faster than the RS5. Lastly, the M4 has a top speed of 163 mph.
2018 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe
Lastly, the 2018 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe still offers the lustful V8 engine at a MSRP of $75,500. With a 4.0-liter AMG V8 twin-turbo, the C63 S Coupe delivers 503 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque. Already, Mercedes has around 50 horsepower more than the competition. This power allows the C63 S Coupe to hit 60 mph in 3.8 seconds. Unfortunately for Mercedes, the 50 extra horsepower didn’t do its homework. With a governor, the C63 S Coupe has a top speed of 180 mph. Usually, the governor is a sign that it can go, indeed, faster.
In comparison, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe has the highest amount of winning parameters. First, the C63 S Coupe sports a V8 with 50 more horsepower than the competition. Although this doesn’t win the 0-60 mph run, it will win at top speed, considering it hits 180 mph with a limiter. The Audi RS5 takes last place on the 0-60 mph run only by 0.1 seconds. For MSRP, the BMW M4 is the cheapest automobile followed by the AMG C63 S Coupe and the RS5. Note, the RS5 value is an estimation based on it’s value in Euros, so U.S. price may be slightly lower.
Winner: 2018 Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe
Overall, the Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe comes in first place in the is competition. It may not be the most environmental friendly, but in a competition of speed, this car wins. Second place can be considered given to the BMW M4 which can hit 60 mph just as fast as the AMG V8. It is also almost $10,000 less at MSRP. In last place, the Audi RS5 came in close, but not close enough. Behind by only 0.1 seconds on the 0-60, the RS5 ends up being the slowest accelerator here. The RS5 does come in second place for top speed though. In the end, the AMG C63 S Coupe takes the victory home for the 2018 model year.
