Recently, news headlines across all automotive sites, and even non-auto sites, are shining light on the Bugatti Chiron Sport’s recent accomplishment. What is this achievement? Well, the Bugatti Chiron was able to reach 304 mph! Yes, you read that correctly! On the Ehra-Lessien Test Track, Bugatti completed a one direction run with a custom Chiron. Why one direction? Nobody knows, but due to this, the car did not set the Guinness World Record… more on that below. Either way, reaching over 300 mph is a leap forward in the world of auto transportation!

Is 300 MPH Even Possible!? Yes… Yes, It Is.

So, many people wonder… is 300 mph even possible!? The simple answer is… yes… yes, it is. The Chiron’s 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine boasts 1,500 horsepower and 1,180 lb.-ft. of torque. Beyond this, the record reaching Bugatti Chiron Sport has a few modifications. Firstly, there is a Dallara custom longtail body on this version. This extension equates to 10” longer than the base Chiron. Furthermore, this car sports a laser-controlled system for ride height. With these additions, the car was considered safe enough to make the run. But VW wasn’t willing to test the car anywhere else, or more than once. And, even worse, Bugatti will no longer attempt to set speed records for production cars as of recent news.

So, Why No Guinness World Record?

Bugatti Chiron longtail hits 304 mph (490 kph) – MOTOR1 – YouTube

Finally, to conclude the article, why is there no Guinness World Record for this accomplishment? Well, the Guinness rules state that 2 attempts must be made, in both directions, and the average would be used for the record. Since the Chiron Sport didn’t make a second run, it couldn’t set a Guinness record. But it definitely set a record… nobody can deny that. Regardless of being in the book, or not. On the Ehra-Lessien Test Track, this Chiron reached exactly 304.773 mph (490.484 kph). Overall, this is an achievement by all means, so congratulations to Bugatti!

Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans: Special Anniversary Edition

Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans: Special Anniversary Edition

The 1st Chiron Special Edition

At first, it didn’t seem that Bugatti would make a special edition of the Chiron. But, that dream has officially come true! The Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans is a special anniversary edition to celebrate 110 years of Bugatti. With a large emphasis on French heritage, this hypercar breathes blue. For those who don’t know, Bugatti is now under the German Volkswagen Group. With the base Chiron starting at $3.3 million USD, the special edition will probably be $4+ million. Some sites are suggesting a price around $18 million, but there is no true answer at this point. But, with such a limitation on production, this car is most likely sold out and will be worth a ton. Additionally, the limit is to be around 20 units, similar to the 4C’s 15 Spider Italia variants.

An Inside Look at Design

On the exterior, the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans sport a two-tone blue design. Firstly, on the front end, there is a matte steel blue carbon fiber finish. Secondly, on the rear end, there is a matte steel blue, not including the carbon fiber emphasis. The front end is said to be reminiscent of the 1920s. On top of this, there are tricolor flags on the mirrors and underside of the active wing. Furthermore, the brake calipers and wheel centers are painted in French racing blue. Lastly, on the exterior, there are unique silver badges with the French flag and model name. This is quite an upgrade of the base Chiron layout, but depends on taste as well.

On the interior, most displays a stunning deep blue leather. There are French racing blue accents on the dashboard and seats as well as Alcantara. Bot headrests have “110 Ans Bugatti” badge on the headrests. The steering wheel has an embroidering of the French flag and center of seats. Furthermore, the key is a mix of red, white, and blue leather. Lastly, the biggest detail is the special carbon fiber medallion on the center console. It has a “110 Ans” badge made from solid silver with enamel inserts. And, if interested, the Sky View option is available, with two glass panels in roof bisected by central spine of vehicle. To note, this is the second car to sport the “110” namesake as there was previously the EB 110.

The First, Maybe the Last?

With the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans revealed, the question arises – is it the last? Well, nobody outside of Bugatti truly knows. Maybe there will be another special edition, and maybe not. Bugatti is known for making amazing hypercars, so it is not out of question. McLaren tends to do this with their vehicles on a regular basis, but Bugatti much less often. The 110 Ans is an awesome car and will be quite collectible. In conclusion, Bugatti does it again with another superb design.

Bugatti Crossover with 1,000+ Horsepower May Head to Production

Bugatti Crossover with 1,000+ Horsepower May Head to Production

Bugatti Crossover in Consideration at Manufacturer

Recently, Bugatti is seeking to add a second model to their lineup alongside the Chiron. With rumors spreading across the market, Bugatti has two possibilities. One of the biggest considerations is a Bugatti Crossover. While not a full-out SUV, it would be similar to the Urus, but more compact and lightweight. It’d also sport a ton more power than the Urus, as well as the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid. So, if given the green light by Volkswagen Group, a crossover could come to market from Bugatti. It’s basically a revival of the Royale in ultra-luxury limousine style crossover.

Although the CEO of Bugatti, Stephan Winkelmann, is against SUVs, that doesn’t rule out the crossover. To back this up, Winkelmann actually oversaw the development of the Urus. So, building a similar crossover wouldn’t be a complete surprise. There’s also consideration of a 2-door crossover sports car. Depending on VW’s decision, Bugatti will move forward with either car, or neither. For all anyone knows, VW will decline both choices, leading to chaos amongst Bugatti news outlets.

Over 1,000+ Horsepower via V8 & Electric Motors

So, as with most Bugatti models, this car will boast an obnoxious amount of power. If the Bugatti Crossover is to become a reality, this car would probably sport the Urus’ motor. This is a 641 horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Furthermore, the engine would receive backup from an electrical motor to reach a goal of over 1k horsepower. In combo, these engines would make this vehicle one of the most powerful crossovers in the world.

Who Doesn’t Want a Bugatti Crossover?

If Bugatti Divo and Lamborghini Urus had a baby – Jimmy Huynh – YouTube

So, who doesn’t want a Bugatti Crossover? Well, surprisingly, there’s people that probably don’t. But, most of us auto enthusiasts do. Obviously, only time will tell if it will happen… or not. Regardless, expect a possible Bugatti unveil at an upcoming auto show… maybe. Furthermore, manufacturers are moving into a greener, fully electric future. So, using electricity to help power this vehicle is basically a requirement. And, the market has already shown electric vehicles (EVs) are popular. Although, some people may need help moving on from their gasoline engine. But many drivers are already ready and willing to do so.

Bugatti La Voiture Noire: One Model for $18.9 Million!

Bugatti La Voiture Noire: One Model for $18.9 Million!

Debut at 2019 Geneva Motor Show

At the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, Bugatti made one of its biggest debuts to date. The Bugatti La Voiture Noire stunned the crowd as a single model limited edition. At $18.9 million USD after taxes, this car is quite amazing. The Noire is one-off vehicle inspired by Jean Bugatti’s legendary 57SC Atlantic. Unfortunately, the 57SC Atlantic went missing during the pre-WWII era. Regardless, this Bugatti is an absolute masterpiece that remembers a historic model.

1,500 Horsepower W16 Engine

To no surprise, the Bugatti La Voiture Noire packs some major power. Under the “hood”, is a 1,500 horsepower W16 engine. More figures are yet to be known, but this engine is an absolute powerhouse. This has been quite the year at Geneva as the Noire isn’t the only 1,000+ horsepower reveal. But, this has also been seen as somewhat controversial. Why? Because many people wonder why these vehicles are not fully electric, or at least hybrid. But, to each their own!

Bugatti La Voiture Noire - Side - Manufacture Picture - EuroDrift

Bugatti La Voiture Noire – Side – Manufacture Picture – EuroDrift

Sometimes, a car needs to pay homage to its heritage and stick more traditional. The Noire is a great example of why. With only one model on the street, the emissions will probably be less than a cow produces. Especially, with the minimal time it’ll actually see the road. But, obviously, EVs are and will be the future. There is no exception to this rule. It’s better to start adapting now rather than when it’s too late…

Wow! $6.4 Million USD in Taxes!

€16.7m BUGATTI LA VOITURE NOIRE – World’s Most Expensive New Car! – Shmee150 – YouTube

As with every luxury good, there are taxes on Bugatti models. At these prices, obviously it’s not cheap. With a MSRP of $12.5 million USD, taxes alone skyrockets the price to $18.9 million USD. What? Why? How!? Yep, that is no joke. A whopping total of $6.4 million USD in taxes. With that money, the owner could buy a Divo, which comes in slightly under $6 million USD. Or, maybe two Chiron models at slightly under $3 million per unit. Either way, whomever buys this car is paying as much in taxes for this one vehicle as 610 average families in the U.S.. So, in the end, having money doesn’t really mean tax exemption. But, there’s no reason to dive into a dispute!

Audi B5 S4 Burns Bugatti Chiron to Everyone’s Surprise

Audi B5 S4 Burns Bugatti Chiron to Everyone’s Surprise

Quite the Surprise at the Drag Strip

When an Audi B5 S4 and a Bugatti Chiron pulled up at the drag racing strip, many people may have suspected a Chiron victory. But, to everyone’s surprise, the Audi B5 S4 ends up outperforming the Bugatti. Beginning with a rolling start, both cars stroll forward. From there, the gas pedals mash. Both cars accelerate aggressively down the track. Somehow, that B5 S4 is keeping up, and passing! To no surprise, the B5 S4 contains enough mods to add over 1,000 horsepower to the base power level. Defeating the 8th fastest production vehicle is no easy task, so props to the S4 owner! This occurred at the SCC500 Rolling 50 1000 event in Germany.

Audi B5 S4 Specifications

Unfortunately, the Audi B5 S4’s performance mods are not readily available to discuss. But, there is an estimation that this car pushes 1,300 horsepower! Phew! That’s fast! Obviously, the car sports BBS wheels, a lowering kit, and a ton of modifications under the hood. This B5 S4 goes by the name “ARLOWS”. Since all modifications aren’t known, let’s review the basics of the base model.

The Audi B5 S4 was an amazing car in the past, and still is today. Starting with a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, this car produces 261 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Being such a small, lightweight car has its perks. The newer models are blatantly larger, to the point the modern A4 is the size of the A6 of this generation, if not bigger. From 0 to 60 mph, the stock B5 S4 takes only 5.6 seconds. With a top speed of 155.3 mph, this car is a beast from the past. This car has always been a mod dream car due to the build being accessible for massive growth in ability.

Bugatti Chiron Specifications

The Bugatti Chiron is the 8th fastest production vehicle in the world. So, being beat by an Audi B5 S4 may have been shocking for the owner. But, in reality, many cars can reach this level of power with modifications. Regardless, cars like the Chiron are hypercars meant to be respected at an entirely higher level. The black with red secondary color Chiron in the video has a 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine.

This motor runs in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Producing a whopping 1,479 horsepower, this car is a beast. But, the S5 is a much lighter car, especially with mods and reductions. From 0 to 60 mph, the Chiron takes only 2.5 seconds. No wonder this car is a dream for many!

And… the B5 S4 Wins!

1300HP Audi S4 B5 vs Bugatti Chiron – cvdzijden – Supercar Videos – YouTube

The “ARLOWS” Audi B5 S4 is such a beast that defeating the Chiron wasn’t too difficult of a task. The race may have been close, but as Dom says:

“Ask any racer. Any real racer. It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning’s winning.” – Dom Toretto in The Fast and the Furious (Vin Diesel)

Those who have seen this movie will absolutely understand where this statement comes from. If not, get out there and see the damn movie! Regardless, The Fast and the Furious is a great racing film from the past. But, back to the race. In conclusion, the Audi B5 S4 is an amazing tuner car which is capable of defeating the crème of the crop.

Bugatti Considers Entering the Sedan Market

Bugatti Considers Entering the Sedan Market

Venturing into New Terrain

The new Bugatti CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, has stated that the company is considering a second model to sell alongside the popular Chiron. Bugatti has considered entering the Sedan Market but tends to favor the SUV body style instead.

“It’s clear that if we do something different from a super-sports car like the Chiron, then it would not be enough just to be in love with one type of car…We would look at every body style and regional demand and not put our money into something that is fading”.

Stephan Winkelmann, Bugatti CEO

His reference to “something that is fading” was towards the saloon, or sedan as they are known in non-European markets. Apparently, there has been a decline in sedan sales in the European market, while SUVs have seen an increased demand.

It’s true that prior to the arrival of their new CEO, the company worked on the idea of a four-door sedan using the Galibier name. However, indications are that the market would better support an SUV body style.

Breaking into the SUV Market

Winkelmann has experience in the SUV market. He was part of the conception of the Lamborghini Urus SUV which has been launched.

Bugatti is not the only car manufacturer whose looking at the possibility of a new SUV. Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, and Bentley also want a piece of the action. Ferrari project, known as Purosange, will feature plug-in hybrid technology and be the fastest vehicle of its type. This could make competition for a Bugatti SUV even stiffer.

Whether sedan or SUV, it does look as if the new Bugatti model is not the only project for the Volkswagen Group. It may have to take a backseat to their electric vehicle and autonomous technology development. However, with the current popularity of the Chiron, their priorities could change.

LEGO, known for typical store products as well as large-scale designs, has done it once again. This time, the LEGO Technic design team built a fully functional Bugatti Chiron. Yes, a LEGO automobile that is fully operational! Even furthermore, one that looks exactly like the Chiron sports car. This 1:1 model includes drive functionality via Power Function motor tech from standard LEGO products. Yes, those little electric motors work together to move a full-size vehicle! Although this car would most likely be highly unsafe at any speed, it is quite an amazing feat.

The Bugatti Chiron LEGO Edition was a project given to the LEGO Technic team in Kladno, Czech Republic. Here, the LEGO Technic team works on complex models for LEGO stores and LEGOLAND parks. But, making a functional Chiron out of LEGOs was even a test for them. Beforehand, Aurelien Rouffiange and the rest of the design team recently completed a 1:8 scale Chiron for $349.99. So, it was time to step it up to the next level. With 16 specialists ranging from design to mechanical to electrical fields, this project was tackled with 13,438-man hours. Phew! That is quite an investment of labor and time!

The Bugatti Chiron LEGO Edition includes over 1,000,000 LEGO Technic elements. This includes 339 different types of elements for the build. Surprisingly, absolutely no glue was used in the assembly process. With a total weight of 3,307 pounds (1500 kg), this weighs as much as an actual car! So, moving a car like this requires a lot of power, even for low speed.

“Under the hood”, the Bugatti Chiron LEGO Edition has 2,304 Power Functions motors. Yes, it really does! Next, there are 4,032 LEGO Technic gear wheels. Furthermore, the car fits 2,016 LEGO Technic cross axles. Theoretically, the motors work together to produce around 5.3 horsepower. But, on the other hand, the torque equates to 68 lb.-ft. (92 Nm). That torque is how this vehicle gets going. To make it even more insane, the car has a functional rear spoiler and speedometer, both entirely of LEGOs.

An Engineering Feat for LEGO

Overall, the Bugatti Chiron LEGO Edition is quite an engineering feat. At the actual 1:1 scale, this car is quite the spectacle. With LEGO pieces in and out, no one expects to see it roll down the track. Although it may not be fast, it is functional. But, for everyone’s interest, these will not be sold due to liability. Life only knows how many people would try “stupid” stunts while driving one of these. For now, it is best to keep cars like this to the company itself. In conclusion, the LEGO Chiron is beautiful and deserves the utmost respect.

Recently, Bugatti introduced the newest car to their fleet, the Divo. The Bugatti Divo is an exclusive, handling-focused spin-off of the Chiron. Instead of focusing on additional power, the Divo is much nimbler and readier for the track. At a price of $5.8 million USD, the Divo has already sold out of all 40 units. That’s a whopping $232 million in sales for Bugatti, without hesitation. Below, you’ll find out why the Divo differs from the Chiron.

1,500 Horsepower Quad-Turbo W16

Bugatti Divo – Engine – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

Not surprisingly, the Bugatti Divo sports the powerful 1,500 horsepower quad-turbo W16 motor. The expectation is that this car will hit 60 mph in around 2.5 seconds. Although, the top speed will be 25 mph less than the Chiron at 236 mph due to the handling focus. But, the Divo will be quicker around the track making it a contender for the Nürburgring record. Digging a bit deeper, the Chiron and Divo will have the same brakes and tires, but there are other significant changes.

Differences Between Divo & Chiron

Bugatti Divo - Side - Manufacturer Picture - EuroDrift

Bugatti Divo – Side – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

The Bugatti Divo and Bugatti Chiron can be seen as twin brothers in the Bugatti family. One tends to be a bit more powerful, while the other is a bit nimbler. This is mostly due to changes in their “genetic” make-up, which leads to separate performances. Firstly, the Divo has additional wheel camber and retuned steering. Secondly, the Divo has received revised driving modes including Autobahn, EB, and Handling settings.

Bugatti Divo - Interior - Manufacturer Picture - EuroDrift

Bugatti Divo – Interior – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

Thirdly, the Divo sheds weight by dropping a few pounds via lightening parts. This weight loss begins with lighter wheels. Furthermore, there is a carbon-fiber intercooler cover and a lighter audio system. To drop it even further, some sound-deadening material is removed, and storage compartment size is decreased. As per the interior, the Divo has matte carbon-fiber trim, faux suede, specifically designed aggressive bolster seats, and larger paddle-shifters. Overall, these changes make this car quite a unique version of the vehicle.

Unique to the Divo

The Bugatti Divo is a unique vehicle from “head to toe”. This uniqueness begins with the rear grille. The rear grille is made of 3D printed fins, 44 of which light up as taillights. Next, the headlights are different with tiny horizontal LED strips and daylight running lights. These lights give the Divo a very personal look. Finally, the Divo has a French flag design on the front vents behind the fender.

The Divo is Basically the New Diva

The Bugatti Divo is quite a spectacular vehicle, it might as well be the new diva. The exterior attracts attention while the interior is fine-tuned and ready to perform. Hitting markets most likely as a 2020 model, the Divo will rarely be seen by the masses. And, at $5.8 million, plus being sold out entirely, this car is going to be quite a collectible vehicle. In conclusion, the Divo is another masterpiece for Bugatti as it works to build its footprint in the auto industry.
