Porsche 911 GT2 RS Sets Production Car Record at Road Atlanta

Porsche 911 GT2 RS Sets Production Car Record at Road Atlanta

“…Winning is Winning.”

“Ask any racer, and real racer, it doesn’t matter how much you win by, winning is winning.” – Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel’s Character in The Fast and the Furious series)

Recently, Porsche set the production car record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. To accomplish this, the manufacturer brought a stock Porsche 911 GT2 RS with driver Randy Pobst. Behind the wheel, this driver stole the record by multiple seconds. The initial record, 1:26.45, was set by a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. This shows that the Corvette is no match for the high tier Porsche models. If price is a concern, the Vette is definitely cheaper than a GT2 or GT3 models… by a lot. But, the quality of a Porsche is very worth it.

Furthermore, the Porsche GT3 RS was also brought to the track. It also beat the record. The GT3 RS is a bit faster than the Vette at a time of 1:26.29. But that still is a victory by 0.16 seconds! So, the GT2 RS and GT3 RS are the top two production cars of Road Atlanta. Congratulations to Porsche!

Porsche Road Atlanta Record of 1:24.88

Porsche 911 GT2 RS sets production car lap record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

The Porsche 911 GT2 RS is a beastly feat of engineering. Starting at a MSRP of $293,200 USD, this car boasts 700 horsepower. This is possible via a 3.8-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine. From 0 to 60 mph, it takes only 2.7 seconds. Furthermore, with a top speed of 211 mph, this car is built for the track. Hence, beating the record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta wasn’t too difficult. Especially with Randy Pobst behind the wheel ready to tear up the track.

This car sports the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R wheels. Furthermore, the car was fit with a Racelogic VBOX Data Recorder to capture the race. So, this is one heck of a 911 GT2 RS. This car is a track driver’s dream. From the stunning exterior to the roaring motor, this car is phenomenal. Porsche knows what they’re doing, and this shows in the GT2 RS!

Recently, Koenigsegg delivered the first Regera to a customer in ‘naked’ carbon fiber. Yes, instead of paint, or even coated carbon, this car has straight-up carbon. Koenigsegg Naked Carbon, or KNC, has no coating, lacquer, or varnish. Furthermore, the thin layer of epoxy is removed via polishing by hand. If whomever strokes slightly more than necessary, the weave structure could be ruined… phew! That’s a ton of pressure on the people, or person, who handle this task. With Regera meaning “to reign” or “to rule” in Swedish, this person definitely reigns the carbon world. Not surprisingly, the raw carbon style looks absolutely stunning!

The Koenigsegg Naked Carbon Regera is quite a phenomenal vehicle on the outside. But, let’s also take a look “under the hood”. The Regera sports a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Furthermore, there are (3) total electrical motors. These include (2) YASA 750 R motors and (1) YASA P400 motor. Together, the engine and electric motors produce 1,500 horsepower! Furthermore, all of this power works in combo with a Koenigsegg Direct Drive transmission, a 1-speed fixed gear setup. So, there is no “granny shiftin’, not double clutchin’ like you should” (Dom in The Fast and the Furious) in this car. Finally, this car has a 4.5 kW-h liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. This battery can run solo for up to 22 miles. Do note, this battery is more so for the electric motors than actual driving distance.

Koenigsegg Naked Carbon FTW!

The Koenigsegg Naked Carbon Regera is a winner. This car is absolutely striking on the exterior with a powerhouse system inside. With 1,500 horsepower, this car competes with the crème of the crop. To handle this power, the car has (3) traction control settings: Normal, Track, & Wet. Obviously, each of these have a purpose. Let’s make sure not to forget the Koenigsegg Agera RS or the “Ragnarok“. Overall, the Koenigsegg Regera in KNC is another amazing delivery by the Swedish company.

Audi B5 S4 Burns Bugatti Chiron to Everyone’s Surprise

Audi B5 S4 Burns Bugatti Chiron to Everyone’s Surprise

Quite the Surprise at the Drag Strip

When an Audi B5 S4 and a Bugatti Chiron pulled up at the drag racing strip, many people may have suspected a Chiron victory. But, to everyone’s surprise, the Audi B5 S4 ends up outperforming the Bugatti. Beginning with a rolling start, both cars stroll forward. From there, the gas pedals mash. Both cars accelerate aggressively down the track. Somehow, that B5 S4 is keeping up, and passing! To no surprise, the B5 S4 contains enough mods to add over 1,000 horsepower to the base power level. Defeating the 8th fastest production vehicle is no easy task, so props to the S4 owner! This occurred at the SCC500 Rolling 50 1000 event in Germany.

Audi B5 S4 Specifications

Unfortunately, the Audi B5 S4’s performance mods are not readily available to discuss. But, there is an estimation that this car pushes 1,300 horsepower! Phew! That’s fast! Obviously, the car sports BBS wheels, a lowering kit, and a ton of modifications under the hood. This B5 S4 goes by the name “ARLOWS”. Since all modifications aren’t known, let’s review the basics of the base model.

The Audi B5 S4 was an amazing car in the past, and still is today. Starting with a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, this car produces 261 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. Being such a small, lightweight car has its perks. The newer models are blatantly larger, to the point the modern A4 is the size of the A6 of this generation, if not bigger. From 0 to 60 mph, the stock B5 S4 takes only 5.6 seconds. With a top speed of 155.3 mph, this car is a beast from the past. This car has always been a mod dream car due to the build being accessible for massive growth in ability.

Bugatti Chiron Specifications

The Bugatti Chiron is the 8th fastest production vehicle in the world. So, being beat by an Audi B5 S4 may have been shocking for the owner. But, in reality, many cars can reach this level of power with modifications. Regardless, cars like the Chiron are hypercars meant to be respected at an entirely higher level. The black with red secondary color Chiron in the video has a 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine.

This motor runs in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Producing a whopping 1,479 horsepower, this car is a beast. But, the S5 is a much lighter car, especially with mods and reductions. From 0 to 60 mph, the Chiron takes only 2.5 seconds. No wonder this car is a dream for many!

And… the B5 S4 Wins!

The “ARLOWS” Audi B5 S4 is such a beast that defeating the Chiron wasn’t too difficult of a task. The race may have been close, but as Dom says:

“Ask any racer. Any real racer. It don’t matter if you win by an inch or a mile. Winning’s winning.” – Dom Toretto in The Fast and the Furious (Vin Diesel)

Those who have seen this movie will absolutely understand where this statement comes from. If not, get out there and see the damn movie! Regardless, The Fast and the Furious is a great racing film from the past. But, back to the race. In conclusion, the Audi B5 S4 is an amazing tuner car which is capable of defeating the crème of the crop.
