The 2018 BMW M5 is the sixth-generation M5 to hit the sales floor. After mixed reviews on the previous models, the new M5 contains new features to impress anyone. Although there are still some skeptics, BMW made the new M5 a mean machine. From its V8 engine to its advanced handling, the M5 has made a comeback. With a MSRP of $103,595, this vehicle will also leave a dent in your wallet. Lastly, on top of this, don’t forget about the $1,700 gas guzzler tax.

The 2018 BMW M5 sports a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine under the hood. This motor produces 600 horsepower and 553 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the M5 to hit 60 mph in around 3.1 seconds… wow! Not surprisingly, the M5 now combines a 8-speed transmission with it’s engine. Although some may criticize this transmission, it was built with economy as well as sportsmanship in mind.

To handle the power, the 2018 BMW M5 arrives with an AWD system. Although, BMW states that the new M5 software prefers RWD for an authentic feel. By using the iDrive Menu and disabling stability control, the driver can access RWD. Correspondingly, the RWD option for the car is called “2WD” and is available in the iDrive’s menu. The AWD system does contribute to the M5’s gluttonous size and weight. Unfortunately, for some, there is no manual transmission option available on the new M5. In reality, the automotive world is moving towards rapid auto shifting which is drastically faster than any human.

Brakes, Handling, Suspension, & More

The 2018 BMW M5 contains a handful of advanced features in the brakes, handling, and suspension realms. First, the M5 has a variable-ratio steering rack. Second, the M5 sports an Active M electronically controlled limited-slip rear differential. Third, there are electronically adjustable dampers. Fourth, BMW offers an optional carbon-ceramic brake package. Fifth, and not surprisingly, the M5 has a carbon fiber roof for a lower weight value. Lastly, the M5 wears 20” Pirelli P Zero tires to complement its sportiness.

BMW Redeems the M5 with the Sixth-Generation Model

Overall, BMW redeems themselves with the all-new sixth-generation M5. From it’s power V8 to it’s racing design, the 2018 BMW M5 is a beastly machine. There is no shame in leaving behind the manual transmission, but it will be missed moving forward by many. The only cons of this vehicle are the size and weight but that shouldn’t deter one from enjoying this vehicle. In conclusion, the BMW M5 has always had a place in most European car fans hearts and will remain there for years to come.

Furthermore, the 488 Pista is built with more racing technology than the other models. For anyone that doesn’t speak Italian, “pista” stands for “track”. Hence, this vehicle is quite the experience for the money. Starting at $350,050, the Pista can only go up in price from there… starting with carbon fiber wheels.

Koenigsegg Regera Drives Thru In-N-Out Burger

Koenigsegg Regera Drives Thru In-N-Out Burger

Hitting the Drive-Thru in Style

Recently, a spike in hitting the drive-thru in style is occurring worldwide. Firstly, there was the McLaren P1 GTR at McDonald’s. Now, there is the Koenigsegg Regera at In-N-Out Burger. YouTube channel Whitesse JR has a video displaying this unique event including the time beforehand. To make this even crazier, Christian Von Koenigsegg is at the wheel himself!
The Regera is a limited production plug-in hybrid sports car. The initial unveil was at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. As per a fun fact, Regera means “to reign” or “to rule” in Swedish. With over 1,500 horsepower, this car does rule the road. Now, let’s dive a bit deeper into the Regera!

The Beastly Regera Sports Car

Discussing horsepower, the Koenigsegg Regera is a beast. With over 1,500 horsepower, this car boasts around 700 electrical horsepower and 664 lb.-ft. of torque. The rest is from its powerhouse twin-turbo V8 engine. The electrical power is possible thanks to the support of a 4.5-kWh 800-V flooded liquid cooled battery. Obviously, this sports car is no joke. Furthermore, the 2018 Regera has an estimated MSRP of $2,000,000. Wow! Imagine driving a vehicle worth as much as a 5,000 plus square foot house with enhancements. Furthermore, in the In-N-Out drive-thru. Overall, the Regera is truly a stunning collector’s vehicle.

The only way this would be more ridiculous is if it was the Naked Carbon Regera.

“Two Milkshakes!” – Mr. Koenigsegg

In-N-Out Drive Through With a Koenigsegg Regera! – Whitesse JR – YouTube

Well, the main fact of the story is that a Koenigsegg Regera driven by Mr. Koenigsegg himself drove-thru In-N-Out. But, it’s time for the most important part of the story. What did Christian Von Koenigsegg order? Well… unfortunately, just two milkshakes. What!? How did he not step it up and grub down on a 4×4, aka Quad Quad, from the Not-So-Secret menu? Or, even just a Double-Double? Either way, the Regera is an amazing sports car. Hence, it is an honor to witness one absolutely anywhere.

McLaren 720S Off-Roading is Definitely Not Recommended!

McLaren 720S Off-Roading is Definitely Not Recommended!

Off-Roading in Sports Cars? Why!?

Recently, a video surfaced of a McLaren 720S off-roading on a forest trail. The Dutch-registered 720S worth $285,000 is definitely not an off-road vehicle. So, why would anyone want to drive it off-road? Well, there are quite a few daredevils out there. Bugatti driving in the mud, Lamborghinis in the snow, and now McLarens on gravel trails. But, unfortunately, the McLaren didn’t escape this treacherous journey without sacrifice. By sacrifice, this means risking damage to the vehicle. Unfortunately, there are gigantic ruts in the path, where the 720S doesn’t have clearance.

Background Specs of the 720S

The McLaren 720S off-roading is quite a sight to see. Now, let’s take a look at what positive and negatives may come from the vehicle specifically. Firstly, there is a 710 horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Throttling this motor properly may prove difficult in these conditions. Secondly, carbon ceramic brakes are definitely not made for off-road use, rendering their abilities downward. But, the Carbon Fiber Monocage II is one positive aspect to help this vehicle in this scenario. Furthermore, the Proactive Chassis Control II Adaptive Suspension also attempts to support the vehicle in this time. But, unfortunately, there is no “off-road” setting in a McLaren… thankfully!

Well… That Was A Bad Idea!

Mclaren 720s offroad dirtroad better than range rover – Kênh Tin Tức Nhà và Xe – YouTube

Overall, the McLaren 720S off-roading decision was a bad idea. The vehicle didn’t escape unscathed, but this teaches people a lesson worldwide… don’t off-road a McLaren! It obviously didn’t help that it was a cloudy and rainy day. On top of this, ground clearance was a major issue. Maybe with a rally suspension, this car would do a bit better… but why? Although, this may not be as bad as the story in which a McLaren 650S was left in the middle of a PA intersection during a snowstorm. Why in the first place was this person driving it on that day!? In conclusion, let’s keep sports cars on the road, rather than the off-road trails.

Recently, Koenigsegg delivered the first Regera to a customer in ‘naked’ carbon fiber. Yes, instead of paint, or even coated carbon, this car has straight-up carbon. Koenigsegg Naked Carbon, or KNC, has no coating, lacquer, or varnish. Furthermore, the thin layer of epoxy is removed via polishing by hand. If whomever strokes slightly more than necessary, the weave structure could be ruined… phew! That’s a ton of pressure on the people, or person, who handle this task. With Regera meaning “to reign” or “to rule” in Swedish, this person definitely reigns the carbon world. Not surprisingly, the raw carbon style looks absolutely stunning!

The Koenigsegg Naked Carbon Regera is quite a phenomenal vehicle on the outside. But, let’s also take a look “under the hood”. The Regera sports a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. Furthermore, there are (3) total electrical motors. These include (2) YASA 750 R motors and (1) YASA P400 motor. Together, the engine and electric motors produce 1,500 horsepower! Furthermore, all of this power works in combo with a Koenigsegg Direct Drive transmission, a 1-speed fixed gear setup. So, there is no “granny shiftin’, not double clutchin’ like you should” (Dom in The Fast and the Furious) in this car. Finally, this car has a 4.5 kW-h liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery. This battery can run solo for up to 22 miles. Do note, this battery is more so for the electric motors than actual driving distance.

The Koenigsegg Naked Carbon Regera is a winner. This car is absolutely striking on the exterior with a powerhouse system inside. With 1,500 horsepower, this car competes with the crème of the crop. To handle this power, the car has (3) traction control settings: Normal, Track, & Wet. Obviously, each of these have a purpose. Let’s make sure not to forget the Koenigsegg Agera RS or the “Ragnarok“. Overall, the Koenigsegg Regera in KNC is another amazing delivery by the Swedish company.

McLaren, previously known for the F1 GTR and P1 GTR, is currently working on a concept dubbed the Senna GTR. The McLaren Senna GTR Concept will be the third ultimate series model, completing a trio. Obviously, the first vehicle of the series is the McLaren F1 GTR. Secondly, there is the McLaren P1 GTR. Now, there will be the McLaren Senna GTR. The Senna GTR will provide the “purest connection between car and driver” according to the McLaren website. Supposedly, it will also be the “most track focused McLaren yet.”

Now, it is only right to discuss the McLaren Senna GTR Concept predecessors. Firstly, there is the McLaren F1 GTR. This vehicle is famous for its victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans event. It beat the competition with less power, and no expectation to come out on top. With a BMW 6.1-liter V12 engine, this car took the lead. This motor boasts 592 horsepower, which was plenty to win. Overall, the McLaren F1 itself is a legendary car, let alone the more sophisticated GTR version. The McLaren F1 GTR was the first in the ultimate series lineup.

The next predecessor to the McLaren Senna GTR Concept is the McLaren P1 GTR. This vehicle is very recent, being only a few years past production. Yet, it still is one heck of a supercar. The P1 GTR was built to celebrate the F1 GTR victory from 1995. Except, this time, the car boasts 986 horsepower, almost double of the F1 GTR. The power arrives from the 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8. Those specs alone show the difference in the power of cars in the last 20 years. This power allows the P1 GTR to reach 60 mph in only 2.8 seconds with a limited top speed of 217 mph.

Lastly, it is time to go over the focus of this article, the McLaren Senna GTR Concept. Under the hood, the Senna GTR sports a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This motor produces a whopping 814 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. This may be less than the P1 GTR, but it will be faster around the track, which is more important. Also, noteworthy, the Senna GTR is slightly more powerful than the street-legal Senna. And yes, the Senna GTR is a track-only car. The Senna GTR made its debut at the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show. Finally, the Senna GTR is said to be the quickest McLaren lap time outside of Formula 1.

Expectations High for the Senna GTR

Overall, the McLaren Senna GTR Concept is quite a beastly vehicle. Built for the track, this car will be the best McLaren performing vehicle to date. And, truth be told, it is just the beginning. McLaren will be continually working to battle competitors in the supercar realm. First, there was the F1 GTR, then the P1 GTR. Now, it will be the Senna GTR. From there, who knows what is next… well, maybe the CEO and design team at McLaren. Otherwise, nobody knows. In conclusion, the Senna GTR is an amazing car that will stun people for years to come.

A Car Collection for the Dreamers

Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, the Mexican drug lord behind the Sinaloa Cartel, has quite a car collection. Looking beyond the current criminal investigation, El Chapo has great taste in European cars. But, truth be told, he has been a top drug kingpin since 2003. According to the US Department of Treasury, El Chapo is the “most powerful drug trafficker in the world.” With an estimated net worth of around $4 billion USD, any car could be his with a click of his fingers, kind of like Thanos… well maybe not exactly. Currently, El Chapo is imprisoned and awaiting trial in the US. Moving El Chapo to the US was important due to his history of escaping jail time. This happened in July of 2001 and July of 2015. So, obviously no chances were taken on this arrest.

Top-Notch Mercedes-Benz Collection

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - Front Corner - Alexandre Prevot - Wikipedia - EuroDrift

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren – Front Corner – Alexandre Prevot – Wikipedia – EuroDrift

El Chapo’s collection of vehicles includes quite an array of amazing Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Starting off with the shining gems, El Chap0 has a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren as well as a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Phew! These two cars individually are enough to pull in dreamers, without the mention of the other. Furthermore, these cars sit alongside a Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG. Driving just one of the vehicles listed above is a dream of many. With the cheapest car being a CLA45 AMG at a MSRP of $51k, these vehicles aren’t cheap. At the top end, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren ran around half a million USD. That’s more value than most homes in the US on average.

Two Ducati Motorcycles

Next, El Chapo had quite a nice mini collection of Ducati motorcycles. First, there is the Ducati Monster. Secondly, there is a Ducati Hypermotard 1100. Both bikes offer great escape options in the event of a run. Or, they are also perfect for a cruise around town. Regardless, no one can go wrong with a Ducati bike.

An Armored Volkswagen Jetta

Volkswagen Jetta - Front Corner - User Alexander-93 - Wikipedia - EuroDrift

Lastly, beyond the Corvette, GTR, and Viper, is an armored Volkswagen Jetta. Since this is a European website, the American cars will not be covered here. But, the armored VW Jetta will! So, why would El Chapo want an armored VW Jetta, a car that is already not that great? Well, it could be that it is inconspicuous. But, with that kind of net value, that Jetta may pack more under the hood than known. It would be no surprise if it wore a twin-turbo V8 with AWD, the perfect setup to escape. It may become a bit front heavy, but with some balancing and weight reductions, it could be an amazing getaway car.

The Verdict May Not Be Good… But the Cars Are!

Narcos | Official Trailer [HD] | Netflix – YouTube

Overall, El Chapo is currently facing major jail time in the United States. This means there’s a very high chance that he will not escape again… but nobody truly knows. Although the verdict may not be good, the cars in his collection are amazing. Starting off with a collection of Benz vehicles, that alone is a non-standard set. Imagine waking up everyday to see those AMGs in the garage with two Ducatis and an armored VW Jetta. Furthermore, he had quite a collection of American cars as well including a few armored Jeeps. In the end, his car collection will arise the dreamers.

Koenigsegg “Ragnarok”: The Agera’s Rumored Successor

Koenigsegg “Ragnarok”: The Agera’s Rumored Successor

Rumors Spread on Successor of Agera

Recently, in the auto news industry, rumors are spreading about the successor of the Agera. The name is believed to be from a “reliable source close to Koenigsegg”, according to The Supercar Blog. This name is the Koenigsegg Ragnarok. Unrelating, this may strike a reminder to the Thor: Ragnarok film that hit theatres in 2017 with slightly over $850 million in worldwide revenue. Just a quick reminder, this is the film where Chris Hemsworth plays Thor in protecting against the destruction of the gods and world. Furthermore, the word “Ragnarok” translates to “the Doom of the Gods” in old Norse. During this event, the mythical cycle ends, and the cosmos is destroyed, then recreation takes place. So, with a name like this, the Koenigsegg Ragnarok should rattle the hypercar realm.

An Expectation of Performance Figures

“We’re talking 0 to 250 mph in 14 seconds or something like this. It’s like, black marks all the way up to 250 mph.” – Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder & CEO of Koenigsegg (During Interview with Top Gear)

Under the hood, the Koenigsegg Ragnarok will most likely sport the twin-turbo V8 seen in the Agera RS, but even better. The horsepower range will be around 1,400, at least 40 over the Agera RS that could reach almost 278 mph at top speed. Now, prepare yourself to be taken back by the expected performance. Koenigsegg wants the Ragnarok to reach 250 mph in only 14 seconds, leaving rubber the entire way behind. With the combination of a V8, 23 psi boost from the turbo, and a ratio of 8.8:1 instead of 9.5:1, this car could feed 32 psi for an instant 600 horsepower boost. Phew! That’s one hell of a performance. Honestly, hopefully it will happen as it is true insanity for a production vehicle of any type. With this car, Koenigsegg hopes to hold back the Tesla Roadster’s advantages.

Targets Set on the Tesla Roadster

“We kind of had our future mapped out, and then we heard about the new Tesla Roadster and its insane acceleration numbers, and we thought ‘damn, that’s put the gauntlet down. We thought, ‘this is not okay’”. – Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder & CEO of Koenigsegg (During Interview with Top Gear)

Recently, Christian von Koenigsegg, the CEO and founder of Koenigsegg, spoke to Top Gear about the Tesla Roadster. Initially, Koenigsegg didn’t truly believe the performance expectations for the Tesla. But, unfortunately, Elon Musk wasn’t lying when we spoke of the insane acceleration in the Roadster. Now, the Koenigsegg Ragnarok will most likely be Koenigsegg’s attempt to strike back.

“We wondered whether it was possible, and yeah, it’s possible. Then we thought, ‘okay how do we deal with it? This is embarrassing.’ In two days we’d thought of a few things. The simplest way of putting it is like this: it’s combining direct drive with the hybridization we have in a different format with Freevalve engine technology, in a peculiar layout.” – Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder & CEO of Koenigsegg (During Interview with Top Gear)

After refocusing energy from the already planned future, to a new future, Koenigsegg believes to have found a way to do it. Koenigsegg plans to use a combustion engine, versus an electric setup, to compete with the Roadster. This doesn’t make it direct competition, but it is close enough being in the same hypercar class. Their goal is to use direct drive with hybridization. Next, it’ll include Freevalve engine tech in a specific layout. Not being extremely detailed, Koenigsegg teased at this during the interview as seen above. Now, it is somewhat an expectation that the Koenigsegg Ragnarok will be the new frontier.

Koenigsegg is “Just Scratching the Surface”

IN DEPTH: Koenigsegg Factory Tour with Christian von Koenigsegg – Shmee150 – YouTube

“What we see with our engines, we’ve noticed that we’re just scratching the surface of what we can achieve.” – Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder & CEO of Koenigsegg (During Interview with Top Gear)

According to Christian von Koenigsegg, the company is “just scratching the surface”. With the Koenigsegg Ragnarok, the auto industry will rattle from the wrath of power. Although nothing is truly known, the car will display at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March of 2019. At this show, the world will see the future of the hypercar realm. If the power figures are true, this is an Earth car fit for Thor, maybe somewhat of what he’d expect in Asgard. In conclusion, the Koenigsegg Ragnarok’s name may, or may not, be correct, but the car will be a beast.

Note: There are no pictures of the “Ragnarok” currently available. The main picture for the post is of the Koenigsegg Regera. Thanks for understanding!

Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow: Lamborghini Urus Copycat

The Fake Huansu Urus

Lamborghini Urus - Front Corner - Manufacturer Picture - EuroDrift

Lamborghini Urus – Front Corner – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

Through the years, Chinese auto makers have shown a copycat cycle in vehicle design. Previously, these businesses focused on companies such as Land Rover and Porsche. But, now, this contains Lamborghini as well. The Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow is a straight-out Lamborghini Urus copycat. The exterior is strikingly similar, with just enough alterations to have legal protection in China. Unfortunately, China has protective and byzantine copyright laws. This makes it extremely difficult for foreign companies to sue them. An example is when Porsche was attempting to sue Zotye for a Macan copycat. Unfortunately, this didn’t go to plan and the copycat is still on the market in China.

Basic Overview of the Copycat Hyosow

Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow - Side - Manufacturer Picture - EuroDrift

Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow – Side – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

From front to rear, the Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow is a Lamborghini Urus copycat. On the cheap end, this midsize crossover is only 10% of the price. This means a MSRP of between $15,000 and $23,000. Furthermore, on the front, there is a slightly different lower front fascia. As per the roof, the Hyosow has an upright roofline. Notably, there are fewer body creases as if the car underwent plastic surgery. Another difference is the 7” smaller wheelbase. Unfortunately, these differences allow Huansu to avoid copyright concerns in China, whereas in other countries, this would be a crime.

Differences Between Hyosow & Urus

Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow - Rear Corner - Manufacturer Picture - EuroDrift

Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow – Rear Corner – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

As shown above, the Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow is very similar in style to the Lamborghini Urus. Now, diving a bit deeper, the engine and other features will be in review. Instead of the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 650 horsepower, the Hyosow offers two 4-cylinder engine variants. There is a 1.5-liter motor with 150 horsepower and a 2.0-liter engine with 200 horsepower. This is embarrassing in comparison to the Urus engine. But, this is exactly the goal of Huansu… to offer a knock-off “high-end” vehicle.

For the drivetrain, the Huansu will most likely sport FWD. This is also degrading in comparison to the advanced AWD system in the Urus. The Urus even includes multi-terrain settings for off-road capabilities. Furthermore, the Hyosow will offer five and seven passenger configs. Overall, there is no denying the constant auto market plagiarism in China.

Background on Huansu

Huansu, the producer of the Hyosow, is owned by the BAIC Group. Surprisingly, this company is a Chinese state-owned enterprise and holding company for multiple subsidiaries. Simultaneously, this company works with Hyundai and Mercedes-Benz to build cars for the Chinese domestic market. Undoubtedly, this company does not play fair in the design realm. Recently, at the Beijing Auto Show 2018, a copycat of a G63 AMG 6×6 was on display by a Chinese manufacturer. To the dissatisfaction of Euro auto makers, this company continues to thrive in China. Maybe, one day, this company will branch into designing its own vehicles… well, probably not…

“Huansu, No Copying!”

Urus: The world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle – Lamborghini – YouTube

As Dora the Explorer would say, “Huansu, no copying! Huansu, no copying! Huansu, no copying!”. At least, Swiper hopes she would say that. Either way, Huansu needs to “man up” and begin to develop its own vehicles from scratch. Copying other auto makers is degrading and doesn’t make for a good business. Overall, the Lamborghini Urus is still the shining star of the SUV universe and the Huansu can stick it!

Note: Unfortunately, there are no quality videos of the Huansu Auto C60 Hyosow on YouTube.

The Ferrari SP38 is by no means a calm or quiet beast. Under the hood, there is a 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. This Ferrari motor produces around 662 horsepower and 561 lb.-ft. of torque. Not surprisingly, this will allow the SP38 to reach over 200 mph. Additionally, 0 to 60 mph should take slightly over 3 seconds. Though, please note, actual performance numbers are not verified at this point.

From front to rear, the Ferrari SP38 takes some design hues from past Ferrari models. Firstly, the chassis and running gear are directly from the Ferrari 488 GTB. Secondly, on the front, the slimline bumper reminds of the Ferrari 308 GTB. Thirdly, the rear wing and engine cover tip a hat to the stunning Ferrari F40. The rear engine cover sports three transverse slates for heat dissipation. Furthermore, the SP38 has quad taillights and a high-mounted twin-exit exhaust system.

Thanks to one of Ferrari’s biggest clients, people can enjoy another trademark model by the Italian manufacturer. Although it may not hit production, this car is one of Ferrari’s top designs. Furthermore, even though performance numbers are not confirmed, Ferrari did test the SP38 at the Fiorano test track. In conclusion, the Ferrari SP38 is just another stunning Italian vehicle.
