In August 2017, BMW revealed the 2018 BMW Z4 Roadster Concept at Pebble Beach’s Concours d’Elegance. From front to rear, the new BMW Z4 displays an aggressive styling. This combines with a low suspension to make this an extremely sporty-looking car. The front and rear of the 2018 Z4 seem to be similar to the 8 Series Concept. The new Z4 has the usual twin-kidney grilles plus massive air intakes.

As with BMW’s other models, the Z4 is expected to be offered in quite a few options. The model lineup will probably contain the following options: Z4 sDrive20i, Z4 sDrive30i, and Z4 M40i. The 2018 BMW Z4 sDrive20i will sport a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder motor producing 180 horsepower and 200 lb.-ft. of torque. In the Z4 sDrive30i, the same 2.0-liter engine should produce around 248 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. Lastly, the Z4 M40i should have the same in-line six motor as the 340i producing 320 horsepower and 340 lb.-ft. of torque. Unfortunately, there will be no true BMW Z4 M model.

BMW states the “trio of large air intakes are a nod to the powerful engine further back”. On the front end, large air intakes create an aggressive, angry appeal. These large air intakes are beneficial to the engine as more air flow will reach the actual intake system of the vehicle. As usual, BMW proudly displays its kidney style grills of which it has become known for. On the rear, the styling attempts to give it a wider feel creating the overall sensation of a low, long, and wide vehicle.

In the base model, BMW is installing 6-speed manual transmissions. For an upgrade cost, the Z4 can arrive with the 8-speed ZF Auto Box transmission. On the exterior, the new BMW Z4 will arrive with 17” standard wheels and have optional 18” and 19” wheels.

Overall, the 2018 BMW Z4 Roadster Concept was built to impress the crowd at Pebble Beach. With its new styling, the Z4 increases its appeal on the worldwide market. The MSRP should be similar to the previous Z4 model ranging between $50,000 and $60,000. This sports car has a reasonable price tag which will allow people with the dream of having a sports car to do so. In the end, the new BMW Z4 should be on the market as a 2018 or 2019 model.
