Koenigsegg Regera Drives Thru In-N-Out Burger

Koenigsegg Regera Drives Thru In-N-Out Burger

Hitting the Drive-Thru in Style

Recently, a spike in hitting the drive-thru in style is occurring worldwide. Firstly, there was the McLaren P1 GTR at McDonald’s. Now, there is the Koenigsegg Regera at In-N-Out Burger. YouTube channel Whitesse JR has a video displaying this unique event including the time beforehand. To make this even crazier, Christian Von Koenigsegg is at the wheel himself!
The Regera is a limited production plug-in hybrid sports car. The initial unveil was at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. As per a fun fact, Regera means “to reign” or “to rule” in Swedish. With over 1,500 horsepower, this car does rule the road. Now, let’s dive a bit deeper into the Regera!

The Beastly Regera Sports Car

Discussing horsepower, the Koenigsegg Regera is a beast. With over 1,500 horsepower, this car boasts around 700 electrical horsepower and 664 lb.-ft. of torque. The rest is from its powerhouse twin-turbo V8 engine. The electrical power is possible thanks to the support of a 4.5-kWh 800-V flooded liquid cooled battery. Obviously, this sports car is no joke. Furthermore, the 2018 Regera has an estimated MSRP of $2,000,000. Wow! Imagine driving a vehicle worth as much as a 5,000 plus square foot house with enhancements. Furthermore, in the In-N-Out drive-thru. Overall, the Regera is truly a stunning collector’s vehicle.

The only way this would be more ridiculous is if it was the Naked Carbon Regera.

“Two Milkshakes!” – Mr. Koenigsegg

In-N-Out Drive Through With a Koenigsegg Regera! – Whitesse JR – YouTube

Well, the main fact of the story is that a Koenigsegg Regera driven by Mr. Koenigsegg himself drove-thru In-N-Out. But, it’s time for the most important part of the story. What did Christian Von Koenigsegg order? Well… unfortunately, just two milkshakes. What!? How did he not step it up and grub down on a 4×4, aka Quad Quad, from the Not-So-Secret menu? Or, even just a Double-Double? Either way, the Regera is an amazing sports car. Hence, it is an honor to witness one absolutely anywhere.

Lamborghini Jalpa: Entry Sports Car from 1981 to 1988

Lamborghini Jalpa: Entry Sports Car from 1981 to 1988

1980s Entry Level Sports Car

In the 1980s, Lamborghini produced the Jalpa in the city of Bolognese in Italy. At a limitation of 410 units, this car is quite rare today. The Lamborghini Jalpa is a 2-door Targa with a transverse mid-engine and RWD. Under Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A, this car had its debut at the 1981 Geneva Motor Show. Before the Jalpa, there is the Lamborghini Silhouette. Afterwards, the company began production of its successor – the Gallardo. Either way, the Jalpa is quite a unique entry sports car.

Most noteworthy, the Lamborghini Jalpa sports a 3.5-liter Lambo V8. This motor produces 255 horsepower and 225 lb.-ft. of torque. In combo with a 5-speed synchromesh manual, it reaches 60 mph in 6.0 seconds. From 0 to 100 mph, it takes 19.1 seconds. Furthermore, on the quarter mile, this car reaches the end in 15.4 seconds at 92 mph. For the time, this car is comparable with the entry level Ferrari 328.

Although, magazines observed different numbers under their tests. Classic & Sports Car magazine stated a 60-mph time of 6.8 seconds and a 100-mph time of 16 seconds. But, on the other hand, Car & Driver witnessed a 0 to 60 mph time of only 5.8 seconds. Maybe conditions and driver played a big role in this outcome… for better, or worse. Either way, the car is not too far off from 6 seconds.

Lamborghini’s Classic Sports Cars

1985 Lamborghini Jalpa: A Comprehensive Review – Doug DeMuro – YouTube

Lamborghini had many great vehicles in the past, now classics. The Lamborghini Jalpa is no exception. The car has a unique design with a Lamborghini V8 engine. The interior fits the period and the engine is a Lambo masterpiece. Although not fast in today’s standards, this car was a beast in its time period. Either way, who wouldn’t want to drive this car on a mountainside cruise? Most people know the Countach, but there are other awesome classic Lamborghinis out there too! In conclusion, the Jalpa is a Lambo classic that’ll probably become more collectible with time.

How to Pass a U.S. Driver’s License Test 101

How to Pass a U.S. Driver’s License Test 101

Basic Info on Driver’s License Test

Everyday in the United States, people are taking their driver’s license tests nationwide. So, now the has come, and you’re wondering – “How do I pass a U.S. Driver’s License Test?”. Well, the purpose of this article is to provide basic info and tips on the process. But, it is up to the individual to expand beyond this article with actual driving lessons and other reading options. Driver’s license requirements also vary state by state, so be sure to check prior to taking the test. While reading is an option, it is also important to complete classes via the DMV, school, or a third-party option. This will better prepare the learning driver for the road test on exam day.

The purpose of the road test on exam day is to assess the abilities of the driver. Each passing driver must be able to drive safely while following all relative laws. A DMV test examiner will ride in the passenger seat and grade the experience. This is almost guaranteed in all 50 states, so don’t get the hopes up that it is not a requirement. Starting at age 16 in many states, or older in others, a driver may begin preparing for the driver’s license test. Usually, a permit is the first task in moving towards a license. Furthermore, most permits allow a learning driver on the road with a licensed individual over 18 years of age. Obviously, this is the optimal time to prepare for the exam and learn the ways of the road.

This way, driving the BMW of your dreams will be one step closer!

Skill Requirements for Driver’s Exam

On exam day, the DMV test examiner will evaluate the driver on a multitude of driving tasks. Firstly, the driver must show an understanding of the functionality of the vehicle. This usually includes:

  • Light Operations (i.e. Headlights)
  • Mirrors & Windows
  • Pedal Usage
  • Turn Signals & Hazards
  • Transmission Control
  • Windshield Wipers

So, be sure to simply understand the basic functionality of the car. But, be aware, reverse cameras may not be allowed on the test. So, prepare as if backup cameras aren’t in most modern cars. That is one technological component that some states may allow, while others not. So… once again, be sure to check with the local state in which the test will take place!

As per driving skills, the DMV test examiner will evaluate the driver’s capabilities across a broad spectrum of driving tasks. These tasks include:

  • Braking at Lights and Stop Signs
  • Driving Thru Intersections
  • Highway (Enter, Exit, & Passing) [Depends on State!]
  • Overall Control of Vehicle in Roadway
  • Parallel Parking
  • Turning (Left, Right, & 3-Point)

Beyond the above list, it is necessary to know how to read and react to all road signs. Also, do note, messing up on one of the above tasks may not result in failure. But, be sure to do the best possible. This way, the chance of failing is at a minimal level. Hopefully, “How to Pass a U.S. Driver’s License Test 101” provides useful info to you in your pursuit of a license!

Lastly, never give up! Keep going! This way, when the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini arises, “no” isn’t an answer!

JLR Builds New Inline Six

Jaguar Land Rover, aka JLR, recently revealed a new 395-horsepower inline six engine. Currently, the Range Rover Sport has a 3.0-liter supercharged V6. The major flaw with this engine is that it is actually a V8 block. Yes, that is correct. Basically, due to JLR being a smaller company, a cheap alternative to developing a new engine is to use one already in the shop. So, engineers put a 6-cylinder heads into a V8 block. Although the engine works, it is not efficient or optimal. But, now, that is going to change! One of the first vehicles to contain this engine will be the 2020 Range Rover Sport HST.

A Dive into the New Inline Six

2020 Range Rover Sport HST – New 3.0-Liter Supercharged Inline Six – Manufacturer Picture – EuroDrift

Now, let’s take a dive into the new inline six. The 2020 Range Rover Sport HST will use the new 3.0-liter supercharged inline six. This motor produces 395 horsepower and 405 lb.-ft. of torque. Obviously, this is with the help of the single twin-scroll supercharger. On top of that, there is actually a 48-volt electric supercharger. This helps minimize boost timing and maintain energy that is otherwise lost to the environment.

Regardless, this car can hit 60 mph in only 5.9 seconds. This is 0.9 seconds faster than the typical Sport with the V6 engine. As with JLR, superchargers are spanning the market including other manufacturers such as Audi.

Ready for the 2020 Range Rover HST?

New Range Rover Sport HST – Land Rover – YouTube

So, now that the info is out there, are you ready for the 2020 Range Rover Sport HST? As a 2020 model year, the car may arrive in late 2019 or early 2020. With a tip of the hat to the previous V6 variant, the new I6 will conquer that loss. The new motor allows JLR to compete with more sophisticated manufacturers. And, the idea behind the electric supercharger, is already in use by Mercedes-Benz models. Basically, it absorbs energy from the brakes and so forth to provide boost and power certain functions. At some point, this information will be available from JLR. In conclusion, the HST will be a game changer for the manufacturer… and is probably ready for a run at the Dragon Challenge!

How Do Electric Vehicle (EV) Batteries Work?

How Do Electric Vehicle (EV) Batteries Work?

What is an Electric Vehicle?

In modern times, electric vehicles (EVs) are an up-and-coming transportation option. So, this may lead many to wonder – what is an electric vehicle? Well, let’s begin with some basic information. Firstly, an electric vehicle, or EV, is an automobile that runs on electric power. Depending on the type, it can be a hybrid or strictly electrical. The hybrid versions use electric motors in combo with a gasoline engine. On the other hand, strictly electrical vehicles use only batteries and electric motors. These vehicles were questionable years ago but are the way of the future. Using only electricity, these cars are faster and more efficient than conventional vehicles. So, moving forward, this knowledge may lead to the next question – how do electric vehicle (EV) batteries work?

How Does the Battery Work?

So, you’re wondering how do electric vehicle (EV) batteries work? Or, maybe you’re not. Either way, let’s take a dive into the concept. The purpose of any battery is to store energy within a chemical compound inside a physical container. Basically, this begins with an elementary particle – the electron. The electron is a charged particle that allows the movement of energy. Electrons allow for the building of voltage potential; hence a charged battery can motion power to the vehicle. As electrons depart, the battery power dissipates until it can no longer operate at the requested level. To charge a battery, simply plug it into the grid using the correct adapter by the manufacturer.

So, how does the battery relate to the electric motor? Well, the battery stores the energy for the electric motor. But it begins with a control scheme. With a full battery, the battery can turn on the controller, which controls power dispersion in the vehicle. The controller determines how much power to send to the electric motor(s), this allows for control of acceleration and velocity of the vehicle. Without the controller, the battery would most likely be sent into full throttle every time the gas pedal is set downwards. So, obviously, a controller allows for proper voltage and current to produce power. Do note, voltage multiplied by current is equal to power. So, an ampere and a volt combine to create a watt of power!

EVs are the Future of Transportation

How does an Electric Car work ? | Tesla Model S – Learn Engineering – YouTube

In the future, EVs will be a normal visual statement on the streets worldwide. A statement of the modern age, of a cleaner future. Obviously, EVs are environmentally friendly, but nothing that exists is free of some type of pollution. For instance, battery production doesn’t help improve the environment, but the lack of gasoline fuel exhaust does. So in the end, the battery’s life and usage will probably outweigh the alternative. Many manufacturers, including Audi, BMW, and Mercedes are working toward electric futures. Either way, hopefully this article helps with an understanding of EVs and their battery operation. In the end, can you now answer the question – how do electric vehicle (EV) batteries work? If not… read again!

Next-Gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Includes Gigantic Touchscreen

The Next-Gen S-Class

For the 2021 model year, Mercedes-Benz will introduce a new S-Class to the market. Always the technological flagship of the brand, the next-gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class will surely offer the newest tech. Currently undergoing tests, it’s codename is “W223”. The vehicle is in camouflage and even the interior has covers to prevent spy shots. But, in reality, spy shots definitely help attract attention to these cars. One of the most noticeable features in the screens. There appears to be a massive screen behind the steering wheel. On top of this, and more importantly, there is a gigantic touchscreen at the center console. This screen is so massive that it takes up a majority of the space. Obviously, this follows in the steps of Tesla, where some people are mistakenly pulled over by police thinking it’s a computer… it has happened!

Visible Aspects of Touchscreen

The next-gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class seems to be an amazing car. As always, Mercedes will attempt to offer the crème of the crop with these vehicles. With a starting price usually close to $100,000, this car will be no exemption. But, let’s jump into those screens. The driver dashboard screen seems to display information such as a speedometer and tachometer. Furthermore, there will most likely be information such as navigation, radio, and more. Surely, there will also be voice commands, and probably even movement commands.

On the center console, there is a gigantic touchscreen in the next-gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. This gigantic touchscreen follows in the steps of Tesla. With the increase in driving automation and tech, this car will surely be safe to drive. This screen will display probably most aspects of the vehicle. At the bottom of the screen, there are physical buttons. These seem to be for specific main tasks, such as active-safety features, audio volume, driving modes, hazards, and the infotainment home button. Due to the cloth at the top, it is unknown if there is something hidden under there. This will also most likely feature content such as surround view parking cameras and more.

Who’s Ready for the Next-Gen?

Well… with this info, who’s ready for the next-gen? Mercedes-Benz S-Class drivers will either love it or hate it. Mercedes is known for being elegant while lagging behind in technology in the past, whereas it seems to be caught up, and moving ahead nowadays. Obviously, this is a good thing. If tech is important to you, then upgrading your current S-Class to this should be a goal. These cars are amazing for daily commuting, or even being driven around. Unfortunately, most people don’t get to enjoy the luxurious S-Class. But, maybe the doors will be unlocked at an auto show near you to hop in and take a look! In the end, the next-gen 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is quite a tech spectacle.

BMW 3-Series Driver Receives 3 Months in Jail for Laser Jammer

BMW 3-Series Driver Receives 3 Months in Jail for Laser Jammer

What? Why? How? Seriously… What?

In recent news within the United Kingdom, a BMW 3-Series driver receives 3 months in jail for using a laser jammer. Yes, that was read correctly. Somehow, someway, a laser jammer can equate to jail time and a stiff fine. Unfortunately, Michael Twizell, 58 of Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, learned the hard way. Firstly, laser jammers are illegal as their purpose is to interfere with speed signals. Police and speed cameras use laser to obtain the speed of a vehicle. By disrupting the signal, the driver disallows the police to read a speed. So, obviously, its purpose is to avoid speeding tickets. Hence, the law deciding it illegal to use while driving. So, to rub it in even more, the court decides a fine of $1,900 shall go along with the jail time. Honestly, that just seems quite ridiculous… a fine would’ve been enough in itself. It’s another modern day story of throwing away taxpayer money.

Statements by Traffic Constable Andy Forth

Due to the BMW 3-Series laser jammer jail time debate reaching big news, the Traffic Constable Andy Forth made statements:

“To use a device which is capable of interfering with police speed measurement is clearly as shown today a very serious matter… Drivers may face a custodial sentence for using such a device this way.” – Traffic Constable Andy Forth

So, obviously, the Traffic Constable sees this as a legitimate, serious problem. In the end, it is hard to dispute the use of a laser jammer. Where legal, simply use a laser and radar detector. It’ll offer information on detection. In most places, laser jammers are illegal. So, hence, check local laws and simply buy a detector.

“North Yorkshire Police will continue to investigate similar allegations when people use these devices to interfere with the normal course of justice… I advise anyone who may have a similar device fitted to their vehicle to think about the consequences of using such a device and strongly recommend that they remove it from their vehicle to avoid a future prosecution.”– Traffic Constable Andy Forth

With such strong emphasis on cutting down on laser jammers, it may be smart to disconnect or remove a laser jammer if there’s one installed on a vehicle. The jail time is definitely not worth the risk, it’ll be a less fine to simply speed about daily. But, this is not something EuroDrift promotes or advises. Be sure to follow the legal rules of driving on roads based on location. Cities, states, and countries can have different laws and punishments. Be sure to understand this well before hitting the road!

Jail Time & $1,900 for Laser Jammer

How Radar Detectors & Laser Jammer Work – The Speed Channel – Radar Busters – YouTube

Laser jammers seem like a great decision for a fast driver, but think again. 3 months in jail and a $1,900 fine are definitely not worth it. Why not just follow the speed limit and not worry? Well… many of us can ask the same question but won’t. In reality, a speeding fine is definitely easier to fight in court and cheaper on the pocket. Be sure to understand limits, as passing a certain speed can lead to loss of license and more. But, going 5 mph over the limit will probably not yield this punishment. Some states, such as PA, don’t ticket for up to 5 mph over. But, beyond that, it is a risk. So, speeding in the 720S may seem like a good idea, but save it for the track! Overall, simply put, don’t bother with a laser jammer, just buy a radar detector where legal.

Disclaimer: EuroDrift DOES NOT promote speeding or the use of illegal devices. Be sure to check local laws for speed and device limitations.

Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans: Special Anniversary Edition

The 1st Chiron Special Edition

At first, it didn’t seem that Bugatti would make a special edition of the Chiron. But, that dream has officially come true! The Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans is a special anniversary edition to celebrate 110 years of Bugatti. With a large emphasis on French heritage, this hypercar breathes blue. For those who don’t know, Bugatti is now under the German Volkswagen Group. With the base Chiron starting at $3.3 million USD, the special edition will probably be $4+ million. Some sites are suggesting a price around $18 million, but there is no true answer at this point. But, with such a limitation on production, this car is most likely sold out and will be worth a ton. Additionally, the limit is to be around 20 units, similar to the 4C’s 15 Spider Italia variants.

An Inside Look at Design

On the exterior, the Bugatti Chiron Sport 110 Ans sport a two-tone blue design. Firstly, on the front end, there is a matte steel blue carbon fiber finish. Secondly, on the rear end, there is a matte steel blue, not including the carbon fiber emphasis. The front end is said to be reminiscent of the 1920s. On top of this, there are tricolor flags on the mirrors and underside of the active wing. Furthermore, the brake calipers and wheel centers are painted in French racing blue. Lastly, on the exterior, there are unique silver badges with the French flag and model name. This is quite an upgrade of the base Chiron layout, but depends on taste as well.

It has a “110 Ans” badge made from solid silver with enamel inserts. And, if interested, the Sky View option is available, with two glass panels in roof bisected by central spine of vehicle. To note, this is the second car to sport the “110” namesake as there was previously the EB 110.

The First, Maybe the Last?
