Lamborghini is known for its V12 legacy lineup. Generation to generation, the V12 is passed down to the youngest. The 2019 Lamborghini Aventador LP 770-4 Superveloce Jota is no different. With a 6.5-liter V12, this car produces a whopping 759 horsepower and 531 lb.-ft. of torque. Furthermore, this motor works in combo with a ISR single-clutch auto manual transmission. Moreover, the top speed is in the range of 217+ mph. This is due to the increase in power, plus a lighter flywheel, titanium intake values, and a shortened exhaust. Yes, the shorter exhaust does sound more aggressive too.

The weight difference is visible across the exterior and interior. Firstly, there is carbon fiber everywhere… truthfully, absolutely everywhere. That is quite a list of carbon. Next, there is two new technological additions. Firstly, for this, is the two-motor rear-wheel steering system. This benefits overall handling of the vehicle. Secondly, there is an active aerodynamic system, known as Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva (ALA). Finally, the car sits on Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

For the PDK option, expect a MSRP of $105,830. But, it is probably worth it, if optimal performance is a decisionmaker. When it comes to the 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera T, the PDK option is the winner. Although a bit pricier, and 2 mph slower, it’s a better deal. Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with the traditional manual. Old-school manual allows a driver to interact with a car in ways that modern drivers do not, for the most part. It builds a real connection between human and vehicle interaction. But, the paddle shifters can do the same, if used regularly. But, keep in mind, PDK can relax in auto mode in rush hour, saving the constant hassle of clutching. Overall, the Carrera T is a pure sports car for the entry sports buyer.

After an accident in mid-January, Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, is recovering at home. While driving near the Sandringham Estate, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, was “blinded by the light”. This led him to pull out in front of an oncoming vehicle. At 97 years of age, many question if the Prince should even be on the road. During the incident, the Range Rover rolled onto the roof, creating a disastrous scene. The Sandringham Estate is usually meant for relaxing during the Christmas holiday season. Although there were injuries in the accident, none were devastating or fatal, thankfully. Now, this situation is being called as Prince Philip’s Royal Wreck.

In Prince Philip’s Royal Wreck, there were 3 passengers in the victim’s vehicle. Emma Fairweather, the passenger of thus vehicle, unfortunately has a broken wrist. On top of this, it apparently took about 2 hours for an ambulance to assist with her injuries. While there were two adults on board, there was also a baby. Fortunately, the baby was safe in the accident and wasn’t injured. The victim is also claiming that Prince Philip nor Queen Elizabeth II have apologized for the accident. She also doubts the claim that the Prince couldn’t see due to the sun. But, she still loves and supports the royal couple. On the Prince’s side of the story, thankfully it wasn’t the Virage Volante!

Prince Philip’s Royal Wreck is becoming a PR disaster for the royal family. With controversial info, this is causing a ruckus in the U.K., and worldwide. Surprisingly, Prince Philip was seen just 2 days later driving without a seatbelt… phew! Driving at his age, 97 years old, is probably not a great decision. Why not take a ride in the back of a Rolls instead? For anyone with interest, debris from this accident is actually available on eBay. As mentioned above, Porsche brake squeal is not limited to one manufacturer, but many. Companies including Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz have come across this dilemma as well. Brake squeals occur when the energy of motion converts to hear in minute vibrations. From there, the heat dissipates via the braking system. This generates the beautiful nose of brake squealing.

In this event, the rotor basically acts as a speaker for the microscopic vibrations, known as stick slip. With large rotors and pads, the pad pressure distributes differently, leading to squeals at low speed. To put it simply, every material in existence is subject to vibration when acted on by a force. This creates what is commonly known as coupled frequencies. Although manufacturers test materials for friction and vibration, the squeal is typically unavoidable. Recently, a video surfaced of a McLaren 720S off-roading on a forest trail. The Dutch-registered 720S worth $285,000 is definitely not an off-road vehicle. So, why would anyone want to drive it off-road? Well, there are quite a few daredevils out there. Bugatti driving in the mud, Lamborghinis in the snow, and now McLarens on gravel trails. But, unfortunately, the McLaren didn’t escape this treacherous journey without sacrifice. By sacrifice, this means risking damage to the vehicle. Unfortunately, there are gigantic ruts in the path, where the 720S doesn’t have clearance.

The McLaren 720S off-roading is quite a sight to see. Now, let’s take a look at what positive and negatives may come from the vehicle specifically. Firstly, there is a 710 horsepower 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8. Throttling this motor properly may prove difficult in these conditions. Secondly, carbon ceramic brakes are definitely not made for off-road use, rendering their abilities downward. But, the Carbon Fiber Monocage II is one positive aspect to help this vehicle in this scenario. Furthermore, the Proactive Chassis Control II Adaptive Suspension also attempts to support the vehicle in this time. But, unfortunately, there is no “off-road” setting in a McLaren… thankfully!

Overall, the McLaren 720S off-roading decision was a bad idea. The vehicle didn’t escape unscathed, but this teaches people a lesson worldwide… don’t off-road a McLaren! It obviously didn’t help that it was a cloudy and rainy day. On top of this, ground clearance was a major issue. Maybe with a rally suspension, this car would do a bit better… but why? Although, this may not be as bad as the story in which a McLaren 650S was left in the middle of a PA intersection during a snowstorm. Why in the first place was this person driving it on that day!? In conclusion, let’s keep sports cars on the road, rather than the off-road trails.

In modern times, speed cameras are becoming more and more apparent in society. Although many people receive tickets from these devices, they may not know, how do speed cameras work? The purpose of a speed camera is to detect the speed of a vehicle on a roadway. This begins with choosing a proper location and setting up the equipment. Once chosen, the camera detects speed and takes digital photos of violators. Depending on the region, the camera may take pictures after a certain threshold above the limit. For instance, the speed limit may be 35 mph, but the camera may not snap unless a vehicle passes 40 mph. Depending where legal, radar detectors are for sale to detect these devices for drivers.

To answer the question, “how do speed cameras work?”, let’s begin with the devices. Speed cameras detect speed via detectors embedded in the road, or via radar signal. For the detector route, technicians must install the device. From here, the device detects the speed between two points. This is because velocity needs an initial and final point of calculation. Next, the camera will calculate the speed using a scientific equation, then determine if to snap a photo.

If the camera uses radar, the device sends a signal to the vehicle. The signal bounces off of the vehicle and returns. By calculating the gap of the signal, the camera can determine speed. Basically, the camera first sends a signal towards the vehicle. This begins the calculation. Then, the device awaits a return signal, which provides a time gap. Lastly, the time gap goes into an equation to determine speed. As mentioned above, radar detectors are available to detect these devices, allowing speeding drivers to avoid tickets. Note, speeding illegally is NOT something that EuroDrift supports!

Keep in mind, the camera itself is usually inspected every 90 days for functionality. Furthermore, the device on the ground, if in use, is tested at least once a year. This ensures optimal performance of the system, making it tougher to debate a ticket. Although some people say it is easy to win in court, that is not always the case. Either bring a lawyer, or know how to debate the topic, but there will be no tips for that in this article… sorry.

After the photo is taken, it is digitally stored in an encrypted location with high security. This protects the image itself from alteration or obtainment. On Thursday, January 3, 2019, a series of unfortunate events occurred in Los Angeles, California. A driver was attempting to park a Mercedes-Benz G-Class on the 3rd story of a garage. Unfortunately, the driver hit the gas instead of the brakes. From here, chaos began to unfold right before everyone’s eyes. According to ABC7 Los Angeles, the vehicle drove through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall and plummeted to the street below. Yes, this car fell 3 stories right into the street of LA. Landing on its roof, the driver is lucky to be alive. The event took place on the 5400 block of Tujunga Avenue, near Magnolia Boulevard.

Thankfully, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class is now in stable condition. At first, it was questionable as the driver was critically injured from the fall.
