Supporting the horsepower is 479 lb.-ft. of torque. This motor works in conjunction with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. From 0 to 60 mph, the SLS AMG takes only 3.7 seconds. But, at these speeds, the car can still terrify those afraid of quick accelerations. In the event of a rollover, the SLS AMG doors contain explosive bolts that sense a rollover to separate for ease of exiting. This is an important aspect of racing in this car, as being stuck inside could be deadly. Fortunately, Mercedes is usually ahead of the game when it comes to safety. This may help those with worries about this car on the road.
