Porsche 918 Spyder Hits 218 MPH on German Autobahn

Porsche 918 Spyder Hits 218 MPH on German Autobahn

The Beastly Porsche 918 Spyder

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a stunning feat of electrical engineering. Although it is now over 3 years after production, this car still reverberates with fans worldwide. From October 2013 to May 2015, the 918 Spyder was produced at Stuttgart, Zuffenhausen, Germany. There is only 918 units of the 918 Spyder… surprising, right? No… probably not. Either way, that number is no longer exact due to the 918s that were considered a total loss in accidents. Furthermore, the designer for the 918 Coupe and Spyder is Michael Mauer. Thanks to him, Porsche fans can melt in awe as the 918 accelerates to 218 MPH.

The Porsche 918 Spyder sports a 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine. Furthermore, there are two electric motors on the front and rear axles. The V8 itself produces 608 horsepower and 389 lb.-ft. of torque. Next, the electric motors add 279 horsepower and 555 lb.-ft. of torque. So, overall, this vehicle produces a whopping 887 horsepower and 944 lb.-ft. of torque… phew! Not surprisingly, this allows the 918 Spyder to reach high speeds quickly:

  • 0 to 60 MPH: 2.5 Seconds
  • 0 to 124 MPH: 7.2 Seconds
  • 0 to 186 MPH: 19.9 Seconds

Finally, Porsche states the 918 Spyder’s top speed is 217 MPH, but the video below shatters this by 1 MPH (218 MPH).

Reaching 218 MPH with Technology

As shown above, the Porsche 918 Spyder is a beast of a machine. This engine setup works in combo with a 7-speed PDF dual-clutch transmission. Furthermore, there is a 6.8 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with a 420-mile range built-in. All this tech allows the driver in the video to hit amazing speed. The German Autobahn has sections in which there is no speed limit, allowing cars like this to reach their full potential. Caution is still advised, but as seen, many people in Germany respect the rules of the left lane. In the video below, enjoy as this vehicle surpasses expectations and reaches high speed.

Does the Porsche 918 Spyder Have More Potential?

The Porsche 918 Spyder is a dream worthy car for many auto enthusiasts. From it’s overly powerful engine setup to its visual appearance, this car is of the new age. Electric cars are starting to take over the market, slowly, but steadily. In the future, it shouldn’t be a surprise when Ferrari decides to delve into the electric power realm. The Porsche 918 Spyder shows the world that electric cars can be the crème of the crop. In conclusion, the 918 Spyder can reach 218 mph… do you think it can go any higher?

Aston Martin Vulcan: A Race Track Machine

Aston Martin Vulcan: A Race Track Machine

An Aston Martin Built for the Track

The Aston Martin Vulcan is a limited-edition track-only race car that is built for its high-performance and lightweight. The manufacturer launched the Vulcan at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. In total, there are only 24 units that were in production from 2015-2016. The assembly location of the Vulcan was in Gaydon, Warwickshire, England. The designer of the Vulcan is Marek Reichman. Lastly, the Vulcan’s basis is on the One-77’s platform.

The Aston Martin Vulcan sports a naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V12 engine. This motor produces a whopping 820 horsepower and 590 lb.-ft. of torque. Furthermore, the Vulcan has 3 power options via knob: 500 horsepower, 675 horsepower, and 820 horsepower. The motor works in combination with a Xtrac 6-speed sequential gearbox. With a weight of only 2,980 lbs., this vehicle is meant for the track.

Carbon Fiber Body & Carbon Ceramic Brakes

The Aston Martin Vulcan is a straight-forward race car for the track starting with its engineering basis. Firstly, the Vulcan contains an aluminum alloy chassis with a carbon fiber body. Secondly, the car wears the typical race car carbon ceramic brakes. Thirdly, there is a magnesium torque tube with a carbon fiber propeller shaft. Fourthly, there is a limited-split differential as well as Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. All of these engineering feats work together to create a high-end handling race car.

Adjustable Dampers, Anti-Roll Bars, & Pushrod Suspension

For the suspension, the Aston Martin Vulcan continues to impress all auto enthusiasts. The car starts with a pushrod suspension with anti-dive geometry. Next, there is a Multimatic’s Dynamic Suspension Spool Valve (DSSV) Adjustable Dampers. On top of this, the front and rear have anti-roll bars. Furthermore, the ABS is driver adjustable and the traction control is variable.

Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro

Million Dollar Aston Martin: Driving The Vantage AMR Pro – Carfection – YouTube

In 2017, the Aston Martin Vulcan AMR Pro was revealed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. This car features a handful of alterations which benefit it’s performance. First, the aerodynamics have been enhanced all-around. This starts with an enhanced dual-element rear wing with a gurney flap. Next, there are large dive planes as well as side wheel arch louvers. Furthermore, the car sports turning vanes. These modifications allow for a 27% increase in downforce. The last alteration is the shorter transmission ratios that lead to higher acceleration.

MSRP of $2,300,000 & Track Approval

The Grand Tour: The Aston Martin Vulcan Review – YouTube

Overall, the Aston Martin Vulcan is truly a mean track machine. At a MSRP of $2,300,000, this car is a one-of-a-kind collector’s dream. The only downside is that the manufacturer must approve the Vulcan’s use of track days. This is similar to the Ferrari setup with the FXX and FXX-K. The major difference is that the owner may store the vehicle at home. In conclusion, the Aston Martin Vulcan will go down as one of the manufacturer’s most stunning production vehicles.

The United States Underappreciates the Alfa Romeo 4C

In the United States, Alfa Romeo recently began marketing their vehicles, most specifically the Gilia and Stelvio. Although Alfa Romeo offers a sports car, the 4C, there hasn’t been a very good marketing campaign within the U.S. for it. Not surprisingly, this has led to low sales numbers on the 4C in the states. With a starting MSRP of $55,900, the 4C is a practical sports car that won’t leave a 6-digit hole in your wallet. Usually, these cars are loaded into the $60k price range with options.

The Alfa Romeo 4C has been in manufacturing since 2013 in Modena, Italy. The design of the 4C is by Lorenzo Rapacity at Centro Stile Alfa Romeo. For a margin of the cost, this vehicle is basically Ferrari’s younger brother. It may not be as powerful or as fancy, but it feels and looks like a real sports car. Another feature that people dislike is the size of the vehicle. Although it is an estimate, this vehicle is optimal for a person under 6 feet tall and under 250 pounds. This is simply due to the Italian design that packs the most into a tiny sports car.

Transverse Mid-Engine 1.75-Liter I4 Engine

2015 Alfa Romeo 4C - Rear - EuroPrestige Motors - EuroDrift

2015 Alfa Romeo 4C – Rear – EuroPrestige Motors – EuroDrift

The Alfa Romeo 4C sports a transverse mid-engine 1.75-liter I4 with 237 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. These numbers may not be comparable to many other sports cars, but in this tiny vehicle, they are quite impressive. The 4C can hit 60 mph in only 4.1 seconds according to Car and Driver magazine. The top speed of the 4C is 155 mph. This isn’t a major concern as most people won’t be driving their sports car beyond road legal speeds anyway. Unless, you have a chance to hit the Autobahn or a race track.

Aerodynamic, Fuel Efficient, & Lightweight

2015 Alfa Romeo 4C - Nose - EuroPrestige Motors - EuroDrift

2015 Alfa Romeo 4C – Nose – EuroPrestige Motors – EuroDrift

The Alfa Romeo 4C is a very light vehicle at only 2,465 pounds. The aerodynamics, light weight, and small engine allow the 4C to get 24 mph in the city and 34 on the highway. Note, these numbers are only in effect at respectable accelerations and speeds. Driving the 4C will usually give the urge to spool the turbo and make some fancy maneuvers. Simply, never forget to be respectful driving any sports car on the road at any time.

The United States Needs to Appreciate the 4C

Overall, the Alfa Romeo 4C is a greatly underappreciated sports car in the United States. Alfa Romeo may be to blame due to the poor marketing that has went into this car in the states. It is a very affordable car that could reach a wide base of sports car enthusiasts. It may not be a practical daily driver, but it is a practically priced weekend car. In conclusion, the Alfa Romeo 4C is a fun little sports car that deserves more respect and sales in the U.S.

Lamborghini Huracán: Pope Francis Edition – Signed & Auctioned for Charity

Lamborghini Huracán: Pope Francis Edition – Signed & Auctioned for Charity

Pope Francis Receives Lamborghini Huracán as a Gift

In November 2017, Lamborghini gifted the Pope a beautifully customized Lamborghini Huracán. The event was located at the Pontiff’s Santa Marta residence at the Vatican. The MSRP of a base Lamborghini Huracán is $199,800 USD. On the exterior, this Lamborghini has a papal white paint job with gold accents and stripes. Although Lamborghini intended the gift for the pope, the Pontiff had separate plans.

266th Pope of Catholic Church Since 2013

Pope Francis began his papacy in 2013 and is the 266th Pope of the Catholic Church. His name is chosen in respect to Saint Francis of Assisi. Surprisingly, Pope Francis is the ninth oldest pope to win an election for papacy at 76 years old. Francis was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina with the name of Jorge Mario Bergoglio. If you didn’t know, Pope John Paul II was once seen riding in a Ferrari long ago.

5.2-Liter V10 Producing 573 Horsepower

The Lamborghini Huracán coupe starts at a MSRP of $199,800 in the U.S.. The Huracán sports a 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 573 horsepower and 398 lb.-ft. of torque. To complement the engine, Lamborghini offers a 7-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The Huracán, unexpectedly, has a RWD drivetrain. There is an AWD system that produces 602 horsepower and 413 lb.-ft. of torque as well. The AWD version costs a bit more but comes with 29 more horsepower and 15 more torque.

The Pope Auctions Lamborghini Huracán for Charity

Overall, the Lamborghini Huracán is a stunning feat of engineering. With it’s sporty exterior and a V10 engine, this is a car fan’s dream. Fortunately, for the Pope, Lamborghini was generous enough to provide one as a gift. Instead of keeping it for himself, Pope Francis put the Huracán up for auction to benefit charities. An example of one of the charities is the Pope John XXIII Community Association which fights human trafficking. In conclusion, although the Pope received an amazing gift, he was generous enough to think of others instead of himself.

Spotlight on Alfa Romeo at NAIAS 2017

Alfa Romeo at NAIAS 2017

The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) is an event where car manufacturers from around the globe come together and display their “next generation” of vehicles. This year, Alfa Romeo helped set the bar with their new SUV. One of the top five must-sees at this year’s auto show was the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

The 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Alfa Romeo first revealed the 2018 Stelvio at the 2016 LA Auto Show. However, since then, it’s been kept out of the spotlight – until now. For the first time since Los Angeles, the new Stelvio was on display for everyone to see.

“The all new Stelvio, named after one of the greatest driving roads in the world – the Stelvio Pass in the Italian Alps – sets a new benchmark for the segment.”  – Reid Bigland, Head of Alfa Romeo.

The Stelvio features an all-aluminum, 2.0-liter, direct-injection turbo engine that delivers a standard 280 horsepower and 306 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the Stelvio to achieve a top speed of 144 mph. All that power and speed is kept under control with Alfa Romeo’s Q4 all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

The Stelvio was designed with both safety and security in mind. Standard features include Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

The 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio

On display at NAIAS was Alfa Romeo’s sports sedan, the Giulia Quadrifoglio. On the surface, the Giulia looks quiet and reserved, but hidden underneath that restrained exterior is a powerful sports car.

The 2017 Giulia Quadrifoglio boasts a Ferrari-derived 505 horsepower 2.9 liter twin-turbo V-6 engine. The car operates with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Unfortunately, a manual transmission is not available. However, you can place the car in “race mode” and disable the stability control. Yes, this car will swing out its backend and drift!

The Giulia Quadrifoglio is a car with a split personality or maybe “a secret identity.” By day, it appears as a mild-mannered, family sports sedan – by night, a powerful street crawler, dominating the landscape.

A 1968 Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale

While the NAIAS was all about the new and innovative design, Alfa Romeo also treated attendees to a nostalgic view of the classic (and extremely rare) 1968 Stradale. There were only 18 of these beauties built, and five of those were turned into concept cars. As you can imagine, it is not often that one gets a chance to see a Stradale in person.

The Stradale was displayed next to Alfa Romeo’s 4C at the Detroit show. It brought home the fact that Alfa Romeo has always pushed the envelope when it comes to power and speed.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider

Though first revealed at the 2015 NAIAS, the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, showed prominently this year at the 2017 auto show.

“Welcome to the return of one of the most historic automotive brands in the world.”  – Reid Bigland, head of Alfa Romeo

The brand may be historic, but this new Spider is nothing like the Spiders of the past. Imagine a car that is small, brutally fast, and tight through the corners.

  • 2487 Pounds
  • 0 to 60 MPH in 4 Seconds
  • 75-Liter Turbocharged Four-Cylinder
  • 237 Horsepower
  • 258 Pound-Feet of Torque

When you add a 7-speed twin-clutch transmission to the mix, you get a marriage that is pure bliss. The transmission can be operated in either automatic or manual shift modes and is reported to be one of the smoothest on the market.

Take off the top, and you’ll feel like you are flying as you race through the countryside.

Recap of Alfa Romeo at the 2017 NAIAS

There is nothing quite like an Alfa Romeo sports car. Whether you are talking about the 1968 Stradale or the 2015 4C Spider, you know its fast. That is what Alfa Romeo is all about – power and speed. Even their more “sedate” vehicles, the Giulia Quadrifoglio sedan or the Stelvio SUV are all about raw power. You can disguise it however you like, but inside an Alfa Romeo will always be a sports car.

Forza Motorsport 7: The New Age of Racing Video Games

Forza Motorsport 7 in 4K UHD

On October 3, 2017, Forza Motorsport 7 will hit store shelves worldwide. The seventh overall Forza Motorsport game will surpass the previous games in multiple levels. The game was developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios on the Microsoft Xbox One and Windows. If you pre-ordered the game, you will have early access pickup on September 29, 2017. Arriving in 4K ultra HD and 60 FPS, Forza Motorsport 7 should pass all expectations from the series.

700+ Forzavista Vehicles

Forza Motorsport 7 is a competitive racing game that will contain over 700 cars. With Forzavista view, an in-depth viewing system, gamers will be able to walk around the car as well as hop inside to look around. Forza Motorsport 7 is supposed to sport the largest collection of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Porsche ever. This is a great announcement as who doesn’t want to hit the track in a classic Ferrari or new Porsche? With over 700 cars, finding a car to drive on the track shouldn’t be a problem. Not to mention, Forza Motorsport 7 has a premier partnership with Porsche on this game.

Dynamic Racing Weather

On the other side, weather will play an important role in Forza Motorsport 7. Dynamic race weather will vary during gameplay including puddles, rain, and limited visibility. When it is raining, puddles will gather on the track leading to hydroplaning, similar to Forza Motorsport 6. It can be guessed that these features have been slightly altered, hopefully for the better, as hitting puddles in Motorsport 6 usually had disastrous consequences. As per limited visibility, that feature should alter the overall perception while driving leading to a higher chance of an accident.

New Leagues, Spectating Mode, & Mixer Integration

Turn 10 Studios added a ton of new features including leagues, spectating mode, Mixer integration, and more! The leagues were already seen in Forza Motorsport 6 but the new version will have new variations of this feature. The spectating mode will allow gamers to spectate friends or online matches while racing. Another addition is Mixer integration which will allow for easier streaming from the Xbox One and Windows. Otherwise, Forza is sure to offer a variety of racing modes from Career to Free Play.

Customizable Drivers

Another major enhancement for the game is the right to personalize your driver. Yes, you will be able to customize your driver! With over 100 items to customize your driver, Forza covers decades of race history and pop culture. These features include helmets, clothing, and more. Customizing your own driver will be a fun and new feature to hit the Forza realm.

Editions of Game for Sale

Forza Motorsport 7 will be sold in three different variations: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition, and Ultimate Edition.  A breakdown for the editions is as follows:

1. Standard Edition ($59.99)

The standard edition includes the game and two custom driver gear items. If it is the digital edition, it includes the Hoonigan car pack for Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7.

2. Deluxe Edition ($79.99)

The deluxe edition includes a bit more than the standard edition for an additional $20. The deluxe edition includes the day one car pack, VIP membership, and two custom driver gear items. This version also includes the Hoonigan car park for Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7 in the digital form.

3. Ultimate Edition ($99.99)

The ultimate edition includes even more than the deluxe edition. This edition includes the Forza Motorsport 7 car pass, day one car pack, VIP membership, and two custom driver gear items. Again, the digital version of the game includes the Hoonigan car pack for Forza Horizon 3 and Forza Motorsport 7.

New Age of Racing Games

Overall, Forza Motorsport 7 will bring a new age of racing games. From 4K UHD to 700+ vehicles, this game is sure to impress. The only problem is, you need a 4K TV to display 4K content. Otherwise, you’ll be satisfied anyway with 1080p. In the end, Forza Motorsport 7 will be the next major racing seller and push the racing game world a bit further towards the real thing.

Alfa Romeo 4C: Practical for Daily Driver?

Alfa Romeo 4C: A True Italian Sports Car

The Alfa Romeo 4C, an Italian sports car, can be considered the Ferrari’s younger sibling. It may not be as prestigious of a car as a Ferrari but that doesn’t matter. The Alfa Romeo 4C provides the driver with a true Italian sports car feel for a margin of the price. The 4C has a manual steering system with sport suspension which makes the car feel as if you are driving a go cart. The power to the wheels is amazing, taking in the low 4 second range to hit 60 mph. The interior is minimalist and sleek with a beautiful display of carbon fiber.

Alfa Romeo 4C Considerations

For other consideration, the 4C does have a limited amount of space. The trunk is a decent size for a sports car but there is no way you will fit a set of golf clubs in the trunk. The golf clubs may fit in the passenger seat but that simply risks damaging the interior due to the carbon and leather. As per other items, the 4C trunk does have enough space to store at least (2) 24-pack cases of water bottles. They actually fit quite decently as I expected else wise. Fitting a backpack or a rounded, small luggage bag shouldn’t be a problem.

The other consideration to be taken is that the vehicle can only seat two people at a time. You may think you could squeeze somebody into the trunk but remember that is highly dangerous and illegal. It is also not recommended.

The Alfa Romeo 4C can be a Practical Daily Driver

Otherwise, the Alfa Romeo 4C can work as a daily driver with the right conditions. If roads are manageable and in decent shape, comfort shouldn’t be a problem on a shorter ride. The interior is small and minimalist, so comfort is another consideration to keep in mind. Lastly, it would be best to make sure you won’t have trouble transporting bags or items within the car. Overall, the Alfa Romeo 4C would be a very fun daily driver if you can work with its offerings.

2017 Audi RS3 Quattro: Fast Enough to Beat a Supercar?

The 2017 Audi RS3 Quattro is a new testament to the future of small sports hatches and sedans. The real question is, is the 2017 Audi RS3 Quattro fast enough to beat a supercar?

2017 Audi RS3 Quattro: Fast Enough to Beat a Supercar?

The 2017 Audi RS3 Quattro can be considered a fantastic beast (Get it? Yes, I did pull that right there). At a starting MSRP of $54,500, the RS3 is a leap forward in the hot hatch and small sedan markets. With a turbocharged 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine, the RS4 pushes 400 horsepower and 354 lb.-ft. of torque. Due to this, the 2017 Audi RS3 can do 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. At this speed, the RS3 can compete with some high end sports cars including the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale. As usual, the RS3 is a heavy vehicle at 3,593 lbs or roughly 1.8 tons.

In reality, the 2017 Audi RS3 Quattro can’t compete with most high end sports cars such as the Ferrari 488 GTB. On the other hand, it can compete with the more sluggish models on the road. The more “sluggish” sports cars include the Bentley Continental GT and Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale. With a tune and stage 2 or 3 level mods, the RS3 could unleash 100+ horsepower to truly let the motor put forward its true potential. Usually, Audi restricts the motor to a more durable, efficient, and friendly power range. This means that each supercharged or turbocharged car has the potential to unlock roughly 50-100 horsepower.

Overall, the 2017 Audi RS3 Quattro is a small beast of a sports car. With an odd 5-cylinder engine, the car competes with the slower end of the sports car realm. For less than half the price, the RS3 is a more affordable vehicle that allows the driver to hit 60 in under 4 seconds.

Warning: Modding a vehicle most likely will void the warranty. It is best to conduct research before buying mods as well as consult with a dealership and/or the manufacturer.

The rear-view window allows the driver and passenger to see into the engine bay at any time. On the outside, the large wheels provide the car with a sporty, mean look. The manual steering allows the driver to feel the bumps and curves of the road at all moments. Lastly, although it has a 4-cylinder engine, the car aggressively purrs down the road. The 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C is as fast as a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette from 0-60. Consequently, it’s no surprise that Dubai owns an exotic collection of police cars. The police officers drive models such as Aston Martins, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis. The fleet is so amazing that one might just want to break the speed limit in Dubai in hopes of getting to ride in one of these most luxurious cars.

Here are some of the cars driven by the Dubai police:

  • Aston Martin One-77
  • BMW M6 Gran Coupe
  • Bentley Continental GT
  • Ferrari FF
  • Ford Shelby Mustang Roush Edition
  • Lamborghini Aventador
  • McLaren MP4-12C
  • Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
  • Nissan GT-R

Let’s take a closer look at these models and see why they are so special.

Aston Martin One-77

The Aston Martin One-77 is a special addition to the fleet of Dubai’s Police Cars as it comes from a legendary British maker. Only 77 of these luxury cars were released worldwide. The impressive handcrafted materials and beautiful details make the Aston Martin One-77 a thing of immense pride for the owner. With its V12 engine generating a staggering 705 Horsepower, this car hits a top speed of 220 mph. At a price tag of around $1,750,000, this car is an expensive addition, indeed.

BMW M6 Gran Coupe

This legendary car is the tamest of Dubai’s Police cars. However, the ‘M’ badge of the BMW M6 Gran Coupe signifies that it isn’t short on power. This super vehicle is equipped with a 4.4-Litre V8 engine that produces almost 552 Horsepower. It needs only 4.1 seconds to go from 0-62 mph. The limited top speed of the M6 Gran Coupe is 155 mph. Priced at only $117,500 MSRP, this BMW is also one of the least expensive in the fleet.

Bentley Continental GT

The Bentley Continental GT is another British car used by the Dubai Police Department. The superb quality and refinement of this car are the reason behind its worldwide popularity. This handmade vehicle is crafted at the famous Bentley Crewe factory.

The Bentley GT is equipped with a 6.0-Litre W12 that catapults the vehicle to a limited top speed of 200 miles per hour while dispatching the 0-62 miles per hour sprint in less than 5 seconds. This supercar accounts for $198,500, which makes it a relatively cheap addition to Dubai’s police cars.

Ferrari FF

The exceptional Ferrari FF is maybe the most practical of Dubai’s police cars. The shooting brake body design of this practical supercar offers occupancy for four individuals. Its 651 Horsepower 6.2 V12 engine allows the officers to transport criminals to the station very quickly.

Ferrari especially modified the FF in blue for inclusion in Dubai’s Police Department fleet. This all-wheel drive car can hit speeds of 208 miles per hour, and jet to 62 miles per hours in 3.7 seconds. The Ferrari FF is one of the many supercars used by the Police Department of Dubai, but only the female officers are allowed to drive it.

Ford Shelby Mustang Roush Edition

In comparison to the other models in the fleet, this addition is the least splashy. The design of this ‘pony car’ is more like a cobra, for the Shelby badge uniquely backs up like the cobra’s head. The Ford Mustang Roush is incredibly powerful. It is equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 that produces 575 Horsepower and can achieve 62 mph faster than the Bentley. However, the limited top speed of this car only averages about 147 mph.

Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador ranks amongst the finest of Dubai’s Police cars. Its fighter jet physique and insane capabilities make it stand out of the crowd. Boasting a limited top speed of 217 mph, the Aventador can jump from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds. Its aggressively flared arches and rakish lines give this Lamborghini a matchless presence. This bull produces 690 Horsepower from a 6.5-Litre V12. At a price of $399,500, it ranks as one of the more expensive models in the fleet.

McLaren MP4-12C

This latest addition to the fleet is state-of-the-art. After the Lamborghini, Bentley, Aston Martin, and Ferrari, the McLarenMP4-12C is the next most expensive patrol car in Dubai.

Its carbon body only weighs 2,879 pounds. Even though this supercar weighs the same as a small Citroen, it can easily outrun any other patrol cars because it is three times more powerful comparatively. The MP4-12C is equipped with 3.8-Litre Twin-Turbocharged Engine that can accelerate to 62 miles per hour from zero in just 3.1 seconds.

The Dubai custom-made MP4-12C carries a ‘2020’ number plate, which is in commemoration of Dubai’s World Expo 2020 bid. The MP4-12C has rather hefty price of $280,000 but it is not the most expensive car of the fleet, that’s for sure.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

This supercar is a work of art. The sweeping front end and its dramatic gull wing doors make the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG one of a kind. It produces around 600 Horsepower from a 6.2-Litre V8 engine. At top speeds, it can go an amazing 200 miles per hour. The SLS AMG goes from 0-62 mph in only 3.7 seconds. The cost of the Mercedes SLS AMG is slightly more than $200,000.

Nissan GT-R

The Nissan GT-R was added to the Dubai fleet in 2013. This venerable car features a handmade Twin-Turbo V6 engine that is capable of producing 545 Horsepower. The limited top speed of the Nissan GT-R averages 196 mph, making it one of the fastest-running cars in the fleet. The stylish design and stupendous details of this car make it a “wow” car. The base price of the GT-R is around $100,000 which makes it one of the lesser priced additions to the fleet.

Dubai’s Police Cars Make a Statement

There is not another country in the world that boasts a car collection comparable to the one held by the Dubai Police Department. Every car in the fleet can hit 150 mph comfortably. Ironically, though, the Dubai police officers are subject to the same speed limits as the citizens. It seems a shame to waste all of that power.
